If you are going to do paper piecing they both are needed.
Wouldn't do without it for PP.

I like mine.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE mine for PP. I also use it for HST. Line it up on the stitching and no worries about using the wrong line on the ruler.
I have a add a quarter ruler and use it everyday. I consider it one of my most used rulers - that and the 4"square ruler which I use every day. Very good investment
Does someone have a tutorial of how you use it? -- J

Have a 6" and a 12" and use it all the time for paper piecing.Really makes it much more accurate for me.
I learned about this in a class. I love mine, and I have the add an 1/8 too for small pieces. I have both 6 and 12. inch, and now I want the 18 inch. My PP is far better now that I'm using it. Suggest you look for the YouTube video to learn how to use it properly. Also, i read on a blog (American Quilter?) recently how to use it for cutting with templates. A useful tool. Love it.

A must for paper piecing. Love mine for adding when I design a block.
I have two, of differing lengths, and I love them. Although I use them predominantly for paper piecing, I've grabbed one or the other for here-and-there use in design work.
It is great when paper-piecing...
Thanks, I was wondering what to use the 1/8" one for, duh makes sense, I haven't made anything that small yet to need a smaller seam.

I do a lot of paper piecing. It's my favorite type of quilting. I haver the 6" and wouldn't want to be without it.
I have both the 1/4" and the 1/8". I really couldn't get into PPing until I was introduced to these rulers.
The are the "mostest".... PPing is now my favorite form of quilting.........I would be lost without these rulers. MaryJane |

I use it all the time when I paper piece. :)
I have both add 1/4 in 6 and 12 inches and add 1/8 6 inch. check out Carol Doak's web site, she has a free tutorial for pp I have also used it as a ruler, it is maked. |
I love it for paper piecing. If I don't use it, I cut of my 1/4 inch.
I have one and love it! Don't know what I would do without it.
I use mine all the time when doing paper/foundation piecing. I can't imagine how one could do that without one. I have a 6 inch and a 12 inch, and they are both worth every single cent I paid for them.
Yes, they are worth it if you are going to do paper foundation piecing. I couldn't do it without the ruler. I have even used the 1/8" once when I did a miniature foundation quilt.
I use mine a lot. I also have the Add An 1/8, which I use for miniatures and decorative items.

Hmmmmmm- that sorta sounds familar, I think I have one of those, couldn't live without it and don't think I have ever used it.
I was wondering if I need one also. Listening to these gals I am convinced I do. In fact today I couldn't find one in JoAnns.
If you are paper piecing the add a 1/4 is a necessity.
Just bought them and waiting to use.
I use the 1/4 for paper piecing and the 1/8 for Dear Jane.

I bought the add 1/4 and the add 1/8 both. I haven't used the add 1/8 yet but i have used the add 1/4 with the pp. I have really enjoyed it. IMOH i think it really makes the cutting a lot easier.
The "add a 1/4 ruler" is a must have if you do paper piecing! And if you are only going to buy one length, buy the 12" one!
That is one of the best things they have come out with.
Its perfect when your paper piecing. Well worth investing your money in. I have two. Its also great for making 1/4 seam markings around your templates. Betty Lee |

When you flip the fabric back and get ready to trim the seam allowance, line it up against the folded back paper and rotary cut along the edge of the ruler, it will leave you with a 1/4 seam, slick as a wink!

I like NYCquilter use it for so much. It is great in paper piecing. Used it on the Jan house BOM here on the board. I have two rulers I use alot. The 6.5 omnigrid square and the add a quarter ruler.
I have one but not sure where it is. Sounds like I better find it & try it out again.
Yes i have one and it is a great gadget to have if you paper piece a lot, it makes it much easier. You can do paper piece without one, i did several without one, but sure do like the ruler.
