All of us.............

I don't have a problem with too much fabric....my problem is not enough storage space for the fabric I have
|
Oh yes i am addicted to buying full stop!! Guilty i get away with it if DH doesn't know :)) I usually buy and quickly add it to my stash.

Sometimes I just pull out all my fabric, or piles from here and there, and just look it it. I run my fingers over it, I have lots of very soft, suede like or flannels. It brings me such joy to look at the beautiful colors & patterns. I don't even feel guilty about not quilting. I just think about ideas and plan for my sewing future.

Oh, boy... I think it really could easily become a real addiction for me! I do try hard to be a good steward of my resources, though, and not let myself get too carried away.
What I tend to do is get inspired by fabric I see, think of a quilt that I'd want to make out of it, and buy it to make that quilt. Honestly, over the past 15 years, I've only really bought fabric to make about a half a dozen things (I've really been an off and on quilter for a long time, plus I hand-quilt so I'm slow) so it's not like I'm spending tons of money on fabric all the time. I do have a considerable stash, but mostly because I keep inheriting fabric from my quilting grandmother who weeds out from time to time. And there's always extra fabric left over from every project, especially if it's one I abandon partway through. : / I am happy to say, though, that I've just completed a full-size top made entirely from scraps from my stash, so I am using stuff I have, not just accumulating! I guess that's my plan- buy for specific projects I have in mind, then make a dent in the stash with a scrappy from time to time! |
I sure do. I love to buy fabric...sometimes I hae a hard time cutting them into projects! :-)

Welcome to the world of quilting, you never have enough stash, and it's great fun collecting. Welcome to the Board too.

With the economy today and the price of fabric, I thank my lucky stars for my huge stash. I can't afford to buy fabric. I now plan my quilts around what I have, not the other way around.

GUILTY as charged but I am in the contest "The one who dies with the most fabric wins" and I could be a winner. The problem with that is that I will never know if I am the winner. Have fun and believe that you have lots of company, cause you do.
