I am making pet beds out of scraps. I asked a friend who sews and is in a quilting bee. I asked for their fabric and thread scraps, when she called back to make sure all I wanted was garbage pieces she said expect a garbage bag every Monday! Am I weird to be so excited?

no, you are making good with the scraps otherwise end up in the land fill...good for you...
|
I'd be excited! I need some new dog beds. I am thinking of making some pillows and removable covers myself.
How are you making yours? Do you have a pattern picked out? |
There are many here that use scraps. If you end up with too many, offer them here.

I don't think it's weird. :) Some might think what I do is weird, tho: My snippets of thread (100% cotton) and too-tiny-too-use fabrics scraps go in my compost piles! Sometimes the birds take the thread and scraps so I've started leaving some on top of the piles for them to use. It eventually composts down, doesn't take too long.

Not at all!! I think it is great you are making the beds and that they are helping you stuff them :D:D:D

I have a freind that makes doggy beds for the shelter. She will take them all and is so excited when she gets them. I gave her some of my stash that was in the Goodwill box for donation. She said NOOOOOOO!! I need them for doggy beds. She was so pleased with them.

Less to go into a landfill somewhere! That is a good use for them.!! :-D :-D

No not at all and I think you look through it before you stuff it all in the pet beds. Some people's definition of scraps for the trash is good enough fabric for scrap quilting.
