I think you are doing the right thing. Better to be safe than sorry. Our toys are very expensive to replace, so it is best to avoid trouble when we can. I do the same thing! I had a machine take a power surge about 15 or 20 yrs. ago. I was without my machine till it was repaired and the insurance company paid over $300 to fix it. Would it not have been better to unplug??????? I think so!!!

I unplug everything but not the computer, go figure! Do you just unplug it from the wall? Does that mess up anything in the computer?

I have a power surge protector thingy on my machines. I hope that is enough. Has been so far. If it really bad then I will unplug.

I ALWAYS LEAVE MINE UNPLUGED WHEN NOT USING THEM. WILL NOT SEW IF WEATHER IS BAD. ALWAYS BETTER SAFE THEN SORRY.
