what a great idea, thanks for that tip.. :-P

[BUT - I line up all of the bobbins that have colors I am not using, are low on threads etc - and use them when putting together scrap quilt pieces. Uses them up and clears the way for other colors when I need to refill.
Julie, I neveer thought of doing this! Great idea also using up the old thread this way! Thanks for the idea! |

I love this idea I make scrappy quilts for kids in crisis and I'll bet they will not even notice the different colors either.

Thanks for the great idea. Going to use this one.

I do this all the time. It keeps me from having a lot of almost empty spools and bobbins around collecting dust. Of course I love scrappy quilts. Glenn

I do this too and have used any dark color when piecing dark fabrics. Wanting to use up threads I no longer use.
|
I use them on my crazy quilting, good way to guse leftover thread.

Thanks for the great idea!

Thanks for the idea. I have tons of bobbins filled with different colors.
|
Great idea !! and it frees up bobbins for the colors I am working on --

Something we have found very common when we get a vintage machine is the bobbins may appear full but they are layed with multiple colors of thread. You may only get a few feet before running out of that color and have to rethread the bobbin thread again and again and again
|
:) I remember that also. Maybe there was the idea thread must match the color of the fabrics?
Or maybe extra bobbins were pricey to buy? Interested to know just why. Julie |
I do the same thing. An accumulation of partially filled bobbins drives me crazy, so I started using them in scrap quilts several years ago.
|
What a great tip. Thanks alot.
|
I do too! Great way to clean out all that unused bobbin thread.
|
what a great tip I throw the thread away if a small length. If it is a good length i wrap it aroung a large empty spool and use it for hand sewing.
|
Sharp !!!

Great idea.

Why not!!! Great tip... I always end up with those bobbins with little bits on them sometimes in colors I think what in the world did I use this on!!!
|
Now that's a great tip. I plan to put this one in motion. Thanks. Who would of thought??? Oh, that's right!! You did!! Thanks!
