Of course yo can do this with your non-scrapies too.
BUT - I line up all of the bobbins that have colors I am not using, are low on threads etc - and use them when putting together scrap quilt pieces. Uses them up and clears the way for other colors when I need to refill. :) Julie |
Wel thanks for that tip...thats a great idea....

That is a terrific idea!

Haha I do that too and I have a bunch of thread spools that I use up don't care what colors they are either. Who is going to notice anyways. LOL
|
I do this too.
|
Yes, any color thread works on scrappie quilts ... adds to charming idea of making a scrappy, doesn't it.
Smilies, Julie |
I do this too and love how I feel when I've "cleaned up" my bobbins.

I used to buy discontinued colors just for this reason. After buying some CT thread packs, I'm afraid I will never run out of thread!

great idea! Love scrappy quilts!
|
Excellent idea - thanks!
|
Julie: I do the same. Never had anyone return a scrap quilt because the piecing thread didn't match!
|
I use up my odd color bobbin thread when I practice my FMQ. I bind it.. (More practice) Then the practice sandwich gets used on my table for a hot mat for pots. When it gets soiled I wash it. If it falls apart I chuck it. No worries.
Of course I only use these practice pieces for every day. When company comes... I bring out the good stuff. LOL |
Good idea, I never thought of that!
