I know I don't see it and your supposedly showing us?
I see a beautiful quilt and if your just learning, then 'applause from the paws', bc that's one purty quilt. Hold your head up and smile! ;) |

You did an awesome job, especially seeing that this is one of your first quilts.

What mistake? I've looked and looked at the picture and can't see what you're referring to. It's a beautiful quilt!
|
It looks great to me. That is a beautiful quilt.
As for cutting a new piece and putting it in... you might decide to do that next time just for the fact that it may be important to you to know that everything was done the way the directions said to do it. (In my case, I would just shrug my shoulders and say..."oh, well". I do make changes "if" I think it is going to bother me to know that I didn't do it the way I believed I was suppose to do it.) I have made mistakes on my quilts and some of them make me laugh. In making the Underground Railroad, I goofed on the flying geese block. The flying geese block (made up of 4 smaller flying geese blocks) is suppose to have each small block of flying geese point to the next small flying geese block. One of my blocks point the wrong way and my geese look like they are going to escape out of the block. I didn't notice this until I had trimmed the completed big block to 12 1/2 inches. When I spotted it, I busted out laughing...and decided that I would keep it like that because it made me laugh. Quilting is fun...don't let the little things take away the enjoyment of making your quilts. |
yes i cant see it either

You did a great job at fixing it and I wouldn't worry about it. I'm sure it will hold up just fine. Enjoy the quilt as we all have made some dandy mistakes on our own quilts. Also beginner or expert there is always a chance of a mistake or two. Enjoy you Quilt!!
|
I'm with everyone else that your quilt is beautiful and the "fixed" area is not noticeable. I would not redo it, as I think as you will have a special fondness and special memories about this quilt.
|
Even tho you pointed it out, I cant see it. There are so many mistakes in the things I work on, I would love to say I had just one, beginner or not. Your quilt is gorgeous and you should be very proud of it.
|
oops double post!
|
It looks beautiful. Are you going to use the thread you used for the repair to quilt it?
|
Excellent repair! No one will ever know it's there if you don't tell them! You did brilliant!!!

THis quilt is gorgeous. I want to know where to find the pattern and tutorial. AND,only you know the mistake and until you did the close up of the fix, I could not see a thing in the world that might have even been a hint of a mistake. And the fix is well done. And you are a beginner?? Awesome....
|
This made me laugh and to me that gives your quilt much more character I call a "conversation piece!" That's cool; an unintention going into the flow!

Can't see the mistake, sorry. Beautiful quilt!!!
|
Nope - I sure don't see it. And - what a beautiful quilt!
|
No one but you (and now all of because of the close up phote - Hee Hee) will ever know! Great fix and the quilt is beautiful!
|
I cann't see it. The quilt looks great to me.
|
beautiful pattern. I could not find the mistake either, and remember the quilt is not supposed to be perfect. Besides when it is quilted it will strenghten the area the error abides in.

Question: when you "sew fabric over mistakes", do you then secure it with small stitches, maybe like needleturn applique? |
I don't see it at all. If it were mine AND I planned it to be actively used, such that it would need regular washing, I MIGHT take it out and redo the block. If it were to be adorning a wall, there is no reason to do anything about it.
I might add, my early quilts didn't look anything like that good. Give yourself a pat on the back. You deserve it. |
Beautiful quilt.
|
I can't even see any mistake. You did a really good job of it and it's not noticeable at all. You would really have to point it out since I just don't see it. :)
|
Your quilt is beautiful. I didn't realize it was a log cabin until some one mentioned it.
I made a Civil War Sampler quilt and had it in to quilt shows, not the judging kind, before a man pointed out that one of the blocks was in the wrong place. The lady that was running the show told him I did it on purpose. Of course I hadn't. Of all the people that have seen the quilt he is the only one that noticed the misplaced block. |
Quilts are made not to be perfect, only God can do that. It is a beautiful quilt and I do not see your error. Frankly my dear I am a newbie and would have never tackled such a project.
|
You did great and I probably would have fixed the problem the same way. Hey, if I have a seam that will just not match up, I've been known to put an applique of something in that spot and people will say. What a nice touch, they don't know it's hiding a glaring mistake.....That's our little secret.
|
I don't see your mistake. The only mistake I can see is that it's not at my house. LOL. I think it's beautiful and you should be proud of it.
 |
Wow!!!!! That's just beautiful :) Can't see anything wrong.
|
i can't see it either. and a little mistake makes it unique. don't tell anybody else and they will probably never find it.

I can't see any mistake, I'd leave well enough alone. It's beautiful!

You have made fantastic quilt. It is simply stunning. Just out of interest, Kinabalu is the name of a volcanic mountain in Indonesia and the fabric colours do remind me of Asia to some extent.
The repair was well executed and hardly noticeable. Just wondered if the quilt has been quilted yet? If not, perhaps dense quilting will hide the cut and you may not need to colour in the stitches in the various colours that was suggested in an earlier post? Also, that will stabilise the cut. Well done on a lovely piece of work. :D |
Just like everyone else, I see no mistake. Your quilt is simply beautiful! I am really surprised that as a beginning quilter, you have done so much better then me when I first started. But I will tell you this that now that you have completed a quilt, YOUR HOOKED!!!! ;) ;-)
And remember, your always your own worst critic. Also, I haven't seen a quilt policeman yet. Stephanie |
Very pretty quilt!
|
Well, I am not going to be able to sleep tonight until I know exactly what it is that you did incorrectly? LOL From the pictures, everything looks matched up. It is a very beautiful piece of art!

Your quilt has such a WOW factor going for it that unless you point out the mistake...no one will know...so don't point it out! Beautiful quilt and the colors are fantastic.
