When I saw his empty, I screwed up my courage, dreading what the cost might be, and asked if they were for sale??
Yes! They were for sale and at very reasonable prices. Long story short, I have space for only one in my sewing room (although I was tempted to buy the second unit and re-purpose it) so bought only one. _:thumbup: _ Sorry the picture is a bit blurry (hate this camera!). Is this cabinet to die for or what?!! When the fabric is folded using the ruler method, it fits perfectly. At this point, about half of it is folded correctly. The shelving unit to the right (which will be moved shortly) is what I was using but things kept toppling over and, because the shelves are deep, I kept putting other things in front of the fabric which completely defeated being able to see it at a glance. _ :-( _ So, what do you think of my solution?? |
Great accomplishment. You go girl!!

I'm working on my stash..its become a bit unruly! The more projects I finish the more I have to organize because I can't throw anything away.. The scrap baskets have long since started overflowing and I had to move some of it to big storage buckets. One day it will be under control...I keep telling myself...
These are my lovely Fat Quarters... and these are where the scraps go to live. This is after wrapping my fabric on the foam boards. |
Very big improvement

I do love the OP's filing cabinet. That is just about the best solution to stash storage that I have seen. |
I have a wall system from Container Store that's generally used for books. I put all of my fat quarters on it. And I use those multiple slack hangars for the larger pieces which I hang in the closet.

Wonderful method! We found some of these at a used office supply store. For the front cover I used some 'ugly' fabric and attached velcro to the fabric and the cabinets for protection. We used heavy duty casters screwed to the bottom with self taping screws which allows easy movement. I'm so glad we found these!

I used that method also....and LOVE THE LOOK. YOURS looks PERFECT !!
