I like the stripes. I do have a chocolate brown piece and a tan piece I'll probably use.
I just want to determine a pattern first, then I'll fill in what I need:)

I agree -I could even use the light blue as the piano keys -
as I said, I need a pattern first:)

Like all suggestions too!

I'd go with the 12" blocks. Maybe a piano key sashing? Sheet music border?

I would go with the 12" blocks also.

I am going to use 12" blocks - thanks for the input. I think I'll use chocolate brown sashing and light blue corner stones. The coordinate can be a border between the piano keys. I just have to go get more quitar fabric - 2 yards isn't quite enough for a x-long twin that goes over the sides:)
Enjoy your day!

I am pretty much a newbie so don't really have any pattern suggestions. But as a parent of teenage boys(now in there twenties but still boys ;)) I think the material is super. And that guitar material will be important to him. So maybe something with really big blocks to showcase that material. You could maybe even stitch around the guitars to make them standout when you quilt it. You have my mind working now. One son loves his rocking music and that material would make him a happy quilt guy. Have fun!

I agree that I want to use as much of the fabric as possible. I love the idea of quilting around the guitars - hadn't thought of that. I think I have everything I need to start - so wish me luck. I'll post pictures when I get the top done :) His birthday is the 23rd - what do you think my chances are of finishing?

I think I have seen fabric that looks like piano keys. That would save a piecing step! how about Warm Wishes?
