Purrfect, your quilt is so bright and wonderful, Is it hand appliqued?

The flowers and letters are raw edge applique. The stems, leaves, and Sue's are hand appliqued. I wish the colors showed better in the picture.

Some pieces of the Sue's are faced with interfacing, cut out and turned ... similar to Eleanor Burn's method, except I did not use fusible interfacing.

Some are just needle turn appliqued. I have been trying it different ways to see what I liked. Am making extra blocks that will be for another little girl, age 2. Just doing all blocks at the same time for convenience and best use of scraps. It is fun to dress the "dolls" and will be more fun to embellish and decorate them.

I was looking for a product used to connect two pieces of batting to make a larger piece when I run short. This product is called "Steam Your Batting Together" and Nancy's Notions sells same. I dislike stitching them together by hand.

But I was also led to the site listed above and found a product used in applique. Thought you who do fusible applique might be interested in the site.

I use steam a seam all the time but I use the light one. before appliquing make sure it is cold or it will gunk up your needle! I love the stuff and I would recomend it highly!!

KKrazy...after looking at your nicely done first piece of applique, I don't have anymore excuses. I had chosen a flower pattern to applique and then all week I kept telling myself it was to much for a beginner so I have been putting off even starting to applique it, but after looking at yours I am thinking differently. Yours came out so nice. I do think I made a mistake by not leaving enough to turn under around the edges though.

Craftiladi, you gotta just jump in. I kinda cheated because I pre-basted the hard parts, and needle turned the rest, but, I am satisfied with the results. And, I am sure the recipient will be too.

I'll post the second block as soon as I finish it.

Fatcat has some great applique patterns, that's where I got that one, I changed it a little.
