Thank you, Tartan. It sounds like basically the same procedure. My photos show up small in the reply box before I hit submit, but then they're huge in the thread, and all post twice.

I've got a unit with casters and I push/pull it forming a L shape to iron while piecing. Very handy!!!

My sewing table is 4 ft. by 8 ft.. My sewing machine is set in a well so its flush with the table top. On one end I have a large cutting mat, and there is a double tier of shelves underneath.

My design wall is on my right between two bookcases of books and quilting supplies. My cutting table is behind me and I set up my ironing board nearby. Works for me. (And thanks Tartan for the instructions...I finally know how to post a pic.)

I have an L but the L is backwards for helping with sewing. I do really like my configuration but plan on making it a "U" shape when I move into my daughter's room after she is out of college.

I use quite a high cutting bench for my machine to sit on. I found that on a normal height table I would bend my neck towards the machine and end up with neck pain. Now I use a high bar stool on wheels and am almost in a standing position. Works for me!

No picture but yes mine is L shaped. Long sewing table my husband made and ironing station on the left side. The other L, the living room, yes to that to.

When I'm using my HQSixteen to free-motion quilt, I move my cutting table and put it to the left, and my ironing board with the Big Board and put it on the right. I'm able to adjust both of them down to table-top height to hold the bulk of the quilt that I'm working on.

When I'm finished with free-motion quilting, I move the cutting table and ironing board to other locations.

I have a U shape arrangement and works really well for me.

I've taken over the dining room...and it's a mess. I'm making quilted bags at the moment.
