I too look forward to the pieceful times that follow the holidays... and the anticipation of the projects to come... is like a child on Christmas eve.
|
I'm still finishing Christmas gifts. I have one more quilt to finish binding and I want to knit more scarves. Already. I am planning the quilts I'll make next year. I have the cloth and can't wait to get started. My goal is to make 2 quilts a month next year. I want to have my quilts that I am giving for Christmas 2014 finished early. I think planning for next year is exciting!

I will be glad when the wrapping, cookies, and cleaning and cooking are finished. I have all these on my calendar for next 10 days. The rest of this week I can continue on with a couple table runners to finish and some pot holders. Yes I will be glad to jump back into my studio and plan and look and read and decide what is next.

Is it bad that I am excited for the projects I get to start after the rush of Christmas!! I got a bunch of things and one big quilt for myself I am chomping at the bit to start. But am consumed with Christmas gifts! Anyone else got big quilting or project plans after the holiday rush!!??

After Christmas I have a memory quilt to make for a friend who lost her daughter. Then 35 aprons to make for my DDIL for Teacher Appreciation day at school. There never seems to be enough time for everything but I love a challenge.

I, too, am looking forward--one flannel quilt to finish tying and binding and a flannel nightgown for my granddaughter before Christmas--then I'm going to make myself a wagga!

Whats a wagga? Not bad! Normal for us!! Lol.

It's a woolen quilt/rug--historically Australian. Mine isn't going to be authentic, I'm afraid (for one, I'm not Australian; and two, I'm using wool blends, since that's what I have), but I love the concept (and the name :) ). They were made with everything from burlap to flour bags to tailor's samples, etc. Kind of like those my great-great grandmother would have made out of whatever she had.

After working on UFO's this year and organizing my fabric I too am looking forward to starting new projects. Unfortunately Ithe list gets longer with each new quilt magazine I get!!
|
I'm hoping for gift cards to LQSs to buy fabric to make some quilts I have marked in my quilting magazines. I also hope for some gift cards to online quilt shops. I have a few I really like, Fat Quarter Shop, M* Quilting Co.
