Oh my, I feel as if I need a window in my belly to see where I am going. I have been quilting today. I sewed three parts of my quilt together wrong. Not once or twice, but three times. After the third time, I shut everything down and will face it again tomorrow. I went out and cleaned the kitchen. I managed to fill the salt and pepper shakers correctly. Thought I would vacuum. But decided maybe today isn't a good day to fool around with electricity.

LOL~~~ Some days it's better to just sit and enjoy a book or a movie. :-)

Absolutely! I've had many of those days myself :)

gal288 03-13-2011 02:24 PM

Hear you, i' ve been on the same bus, started at 5:30 ( wait that's really 4:30)) & it's been downhill from there. Went to take photos of a quilt, couldn't find it, took an hour, had left the camera on now the batteries were dead. No more batteries. I was afraid to drive the car to get some, was sure i' d get a flat.
forgot to take something out of freezer for dinner, so were eating grilled cheese!
I think i' m going to take a hot bath, put on my pj's, & stay out of trouble

lileth1374 03-13-2011 02:31 PM

Been there, done that.

IrelandDragonQuilting 03-13-2011 02:39 PM

I would say it is nappy time! I so love naps!

merchjag 03-13-2011 02:41 PM

Same here-today was a blah day-wanted to do some free motion but my Phaff is cutting my thread somewhere inside. I am not happy-I just had it to the sewing machine guy for a cleaning and now I have to take it back!!GRRR! So now I've decided to cut some material for a new quilt-with my luck my rotary cutter will break!!! If that doesn't work I'll do some hand work. It's cold here in Pa but no snow and no sunshine.

sueisallaboutquilts 03-13-2011 02:47 PM

LOL - you have a great sense of humor! I agree, no electrical work today :D:D

CarolLady 03-13-2011 03:03 PM

We can blame it on the time change!!!

I am feeling like I need a nap and it's only 6 pm here...

It's cold here, too. But I did notice my crocus are blooming!!

emerald46 03-13-2011 03:06 PM

Spring forward takes me a couple of days to get in the swing of things. Fall back is no problem. I did press 20 FQs for a Turning Twenty project and wash my houseshoes...lol..big busy day.

Thanks
Carol

Amen to this!!!

emerald46 03-13-2011 04:21 PM

It is going to be a quilt for my aunt in Ireland. We are going this summer. I have ideas..doing a Texas theme. It will be my version of turning twenty. I have several Texas theme fabrics and a gorgeous Texas wildflower fabic and coodinated Moda marbles. Made several drawings and trying to zero in. I'm calling my embroidery lady tomorrow about a panel in the middle with Yellow Rose, Armadillo, Outline of Texas, boot and Longhorn. The turning twenty part will surround this panel. Keep your fingers crossed!

That sounds fabulous! Be sure to post pictures as you go!

Airwick156 03-13-2011 07:45 PM

Wow I wish I could figure out how to make my own pattern. :) Sounds like its going to be really nice when you get it done.

jtquilts 03-14-2011 03:00 AM

I have things like that happen every once in awhile but don't have it happen at time change for a built in reason . . . LOL. Walking away is a good thing. Good wishes for when you walk back!

Homemother 03-14-2011 04:11 AM

Remedy: go to your LQS and spend some time lost in the colors and textures of the fabric! Treat yourself to one item, then go to lunch with a friend, afterward head home and try again!

Sallyflymi 03-14-2011 06:28 AM

LOL. quite while you are ahead. Time to read or something else that doesn't require you doing anything..

chaskaquilter 03-14-2011 07:41 AM

Went back in this am, sun shining in my quilting room, got the project finished. Now for the backing, quilting and binding.

GramaLaura 03-14-2011 07:44 AM

Yep.....time for a break! You went a lot further than I usually do.......first mistake and I quit till tomorrow :-D

Margie 03-14-2011 08:57 AM

Definitely time for a break when that happens. Go for a walk, visit with a friend, read a book. .. return fresh.

Kuusistoquilter 03-14-2011 09:12 AM

Some days it just doesn't pay to get out of bed. My inner clock woke me up at 5:30 this am. At least I am able to get things done.

chairjogger 03-14-2011 09:13 AM

I hate that kind of day.. rip and tear..

so sorry !

IBQUILTIN 03-14-2011 09:38 AM

I've had those days. Too many, and too close together. Definitely time for a good book and a warm quilt to cuddle up with.

MadQuilter 03-14-2011 10:09 AM

Did the same thing on my sailboat bottoms yesterday. Sewed the sea to the top of the boat. TWICE! Then I sewed the opposite side shut and on the first one I ripped the wrong side. Took a break, came back and all was well.

Sandra in Minnesota 03-14-2011 11:00 AM

Sent you a pm

Having the same kind of day here too, so I followed your advice, the nap was wonderful! I can once again face my quilt!

quilttiludrop 03-14-2011 04:31 PM

We had a power outage for about 2 hours yesterday caused by high winds! It was definitely not a day for quilting! We had prolonged coffee and conversation at the dining table!

grumpy90650 03-14-2011 04:37 PM

i think it is called quilters syndrome...when we are at the machine too long, our brains start to make us do weird stuff so we know it is time to go and read, go on the quilting board, or whatever it is we do to relax.......gina

QuiltNama 03-14-2011 05:01 PM

It's been 2 steps forward and 3 steps back for me today also.

trolleystation 03-14-2011 05:15 PM

I don't think any day is a good day to use the vacuum cleaner.

sewingsuz 03-14-2011 05:22 PM

I have been there, in fact today I wanted to cut a D9P out and never did get to it. it is Spring Brake for the kids. I went grocery shopping and cooked and did the dishes and i have allergies so bad from the pollen. I am going to bed early again. Hang in ther Chaskaquilter, tomorrow ought to be better. Also I wasted an hour or so renewing my Driver license and no way I am putting on there what I really weigh. LOL Ha Ha

Grandma Peg 03-14-2011 06:59 PM

It sure can be frustrating when you do that to yourself, but one reassuring thing is you are not alone. We have all done that at least once and in my case several times.

Gladys 03-14-2011 07:01 PM

I really like this time, for some reason it agrees with me.

cmputerdazed 03-14-2011 07:04 PM

Yes I hate when that happens.

cmputerdazed 03-14-2011 07:05 PM

Ya, I'm an artist also, and when I open a can of paint and get it all over my fingers----. I need to recap the paint and go find something else to do, as I will make more mistake and mess then what it is worth. JUST STEP AWAY!!!!

My time 03-14-2011 09:15 PM

Oh man I so know that feeling, but there is no sense in punishing yourself with vaccuuming.

I took the bobbin case out of my machine to clean it and it took me well over a half an hour to get it to re-seat itself correctly. Once I quit, got up to get a cup of coffee and when I came back------popped it into place first try. @@

Works for me if you want to blame DST.
