I use it for hand quilting, but never thought of using it with embroidery thread, thanks Jan

Never knew anything about this... will pick some up next time I'm at Joann's.

I use it all the time, it is wonderful for handquilting!

It's great, not only for quilting, but also for sewing on buttons... makes the thread stronger. I wouldn't be without it! One time a store here had a bunch of notions in a bin for 4/$1. I rummaged through the bin and got all the beeswax things they had and went home with 8 of them. The check-out lady looked at me sort of funny, but I just smiled and pretended there was nothing unusual about all those beeswax things. :)

I dug out an old 1 lb block from when I did leather work. I am now able to thread a smaller needle for my hand quilting, which is great. Thanks for the tip. Gary

I always use beeswax while hand quilting. I have it in both yellow and white. It works great when you are using a thread that is just too fine to keep still.

It's available at Joannes.

I do the same - Also - the wax will dry out if left out for a long time, so I keep it in a ziplock bag

I bought a block of it at the crft store after I found some candy molds at a garage sale. I melted it and poured the wax into the cute candy molds (little flowers) then after they cooled I wrapped them in a cute scrap of fabric to give to friends. It's a great sewing tool.

I use it on every quilt frame that I build. I rub a little on the edges of the plywood base to prevent any threads/fabric from catching while quilting. It works great!

Oh, I have two types listed on our site too... if anyone ever needs it. http://stores.laptophoops.com/-strse...der/Detail.bok

I have been using it for years. I love how it makes the thread behave.
