Mine do too! :)

There is a reason we all have those huge stash piles!

I was in a half square triangle swap once and I didn't pay attention to how many squares I was to make for the swap, later found out that it was only 60 2 1/2" squares.
I made 400. lol 3 quilts later I finally used them all up.

This quilt is a queen size and used up about 200 of the half square triangles. I also made twin and crib size.

I think the wonderful part is when I sew 2 pieces that are stuck together into a quilt block, and then find that last needed piece missing!
and search and search and SEARCH!
plus...having to rip and re-sew!
Yep, "stuff in the dark"!

I have done that many times, I am so anxious to start that I don't read thru all the instructions.

I have done things like that. Then you get to be creative to use the fabric you cut. It's called a "creative adjustment."

Just take the word "beginner's" off your post, and you will know what all quilters have done, probably more than once! Hope you can make lemons out of your lemonade.

Oh sorry that happened! It's like the carpenter rule to measure twice, cut once, except it is read three times (at least) lol!

Been there, done that myself. I now read the pattern twice and then the third time before I cut.

I'm very new so read for a long time before I start!
