Best Husband Ever!

I just have to share this... Yesterday, my husband and I took the day off. He suggested that we go to a city about an hour away and go do some "quilt shopping". We started off at Grubers... Found another new project to add to my list! Then he suggested we go to a sewing machine dealer that I've been wanting to check out for months. There aren't a lot of Babylock dealers in our area and St. Cloud (MN) is probably the closest. I've had my heart set on one for awhile now but always thought of it as kind of a daydream. Couldn't imagine spending that kind of money on a new machine when I have two that (mostly) work already. They are a different class of machine (think used Yugo) versus the Babylock (think Lexus).

Long story short, hubby bought me a new Babylock Soprano!! I believe this is the model that's replacing the Symphony. It's A-MAY-ZING!! It's so quiet... And sooooo smooth and it has all the great features I wanted and more (thread cutter, advanced needle threader, pivot feature, knee lift... I could go on and on. I am the luckiest woman on the planet. I asked my husband why he bought it for me and he just said... "That smile on your face - it's my job to put it there as often as I can."

He got a brother?????

Wow! Sometimes when we have someone who loves us this much, we take it for granted.
You are blessed to have each other.

Nope... But I often tell him that if I die first he will have them piled up 5 deep to get a chance with him! He's definitely a keeper!! Plus he enjoys fabric shopping more than I do!

eann 12-08-2015 12:06 PM

He is one in a million! Enjoy your time together!!

quiltingcandy 12-08-2015 12:09 PM

He sounds like a great person, you are both blessed for finding each other. (A lot of women would not appreciate that kind of love, just take it for granted.)

You are a lucky woman to have found a gem like your husband. Have fun with your new toy.

My DH is very thoughtful of me too; and each time he is thoughtful towards me I know there is probably a matching new " thing" in the garage for him!! LOL

he did sorta allude to maybe I wouldn't bawlk when he wants to spend some money on his classic car next spring... But I never do!!

The buying trip your husband took you on sounds wonderful. But my favorite part of the story is his answer to your question of why. THAT'S what would take my breath away, regardless of how long you've been together. Sweet and thoughtful, quite a combination!

Podunk Princess 12-08-2015 02:07 PM

Congratulations on the new acquisition and the "keeper" husband. I have one of those, too, and I wouldn't trade him for anything (well, most days anyway...LOL).

carslo 12-08-2015 02:23 PM

Sounds like a keeper to me on both accounts!

sewingsuz 12-08-2015 03:05 PM

Wow eee What a great guy you have.

Cybrarian 12-08-2015 04:15 PM

That is a caring, thoughtful husband you have!!

Agreed!! He's more than I even thought to dream of as a little girl! He's always incredibly thoughtful and kind! I really am the luckiest woman out there and I never ever take that for granted. If you both have the top priority of making the other person happy, you're going to have a pretty happy home!

jeanne49 12-08-2015 06:28 PM

You are definitely one very lucky lady. I have the Espire, which was renamed Symphony, and the only difference was my machine came with a thread rack which could be removed, it held 2 spools upright and there was a telescoping arm if you were using tall cones. The Symphony did come with that but it did have a few more stitches. I got mine in 2007 and love it.

maryb119 12-08-2015 06:52 PM

You are a lucky woman!

liking quilting 12-08-2015 07:34 PM

Loved your story!!! Hope you have many happy hours of sewing with that new machine; and many fun hours cruising in his classic car!!!
I was looking forward to Gruber's on my way home from our cabin closing last fall. To my great dismay they were closed that Sun. afternoon. I know I stopped on a Sunday another year. Such a bummer. Stopped at the winery near Kimball instead!

Tiggersmom 12-08-2015 07:41 PM

Thanks for sharing! You and I both have one in a million!

QuiltnLady1 12-08-2015 08:22 PM

Congratulations on your new machine -- and on choosing a really great guy!!

ranbro 12-09-2015 03:14 AM

Proof that he loves you very much.

twinkie 12-09-2015 03:48 AM

Isn't it wonderful when you are blessed with the best husband in the world? I share your feelings. GOD Bless

quilterpurpledog 12-09-2015 04:00 AM

Love the intrigue in your story. Great story but I'll bet he has enjoyed these tactics with other gift giving opportunities. Just enjoy each other every day and know you are blessed!

sandy l 12-09-2015 04:20 AM

You do realize that there's going to be a lot more than "5 deep piled up" after you have posted this to let us know what a great keeper you have. A machine buyer and fabric shopper both:).

jmoore 12-09-2015 04:22 AM

Awww... such a sweet story and a thoughtful husband. I wish you lots of fun with your new Soprano and many happy years with your DH. Thanks for sharing your excitement.
