I do like most, I machine it to the front and hand sew on the back. It took me quite awhile to get it right, so I also sewed binding to the back by machine and sewed to the front. I don't think it makes any difference. I tried machine sewing it on and did not like it. I don't mind any part of making a quilt. I really enjoy quilt making. I make sure all my quilts are sewn very well, none have ever come apart. I use a ladder stitch and tack it every so many stitches. I use doubled hand quilting thread to match the binding.

I do the same as you - machine sew the front, then hand-sew the back. I just think it looks better.

Machine for everything. It's faster and it is the over-all effect that I'm interested in.

I prefer hand sewing on the back, but understand why some prefer machine. |
Machine sew the front & hand sew the back

I hand sew the binding for 2 reasons:
1. I'm terrible at getting it right by machine. 2. I save my binding for down time- watching TV etc. |

I sew it on, turn to the back and hand stitch. I have it look better by doing that.

I am a machine binding person. If I think I may enter the quilt in a judged show, then I do it by hand. I love to hand applique, but to put a binding on a quilt by hand drives me crazy.(And believe me, it's a short trip);-)

I definitely hand sew on the back ,I tried to machine one time and that was enough.Never again
