No, I would rather do my own. It is nice to have a project while watching television.

I machine bind most of my quilts, and would only consider hiring someone to hand bind if I was planning on entering the quilt in a competition. So the quality would have to be very, very high. I'm very good at it myself, just don't especially care to do it.

No. I bind all my quilts by machine. Perfectly acceptable by me and I am the only one who counts, lol.

Totally agree with you.

Yes, because my binding never turns out nice. :)

I Hate doing anything by hand, to me that is a four letter word! lol I have a friend in my guild that loves hand work, so I pay her (a very reasonable $20 per quilt rate....so why not?) and she has it back to me in a few days. We eat dinner together a few days a month, go to retreats and guild meetings, so swapping it is never an issue. I have done the dreaded hand work, it looks fine. I just don't enjoy it, would rather move on to something else!! I have also done machine binding, but I think I try to hurry and it never looks as good as I would like...I guess I should practice more!

For those who bind by machine........what is your technique. What do you consider "good machine" binding. What do you strive for. I find that majority of videos on machine binding are less than satisfactory and don't answer my questions.

Probably not since I do pretty much all my bindings by machine. They've improved with practice. I, however, would pay to have someone sandwich my quilts.

Since I make mainly baby quilts that will get lots of laundering, I machine bind mine. I really like hand-sewing though, so I have done that for others at a rate of $50 for a lap- or twin-size quilt

Nope, I do it by machine. Most folks don't give a hoot that it's done that way and I give all mine away. I don't do show quilts just use them til they fall apart quilts!!!

Yes, I hate to bind. But since I make so many charity quilts, I machine bind.
