Binding

Would you pay to have someone hand bind your quilts?

not as long as i am able to do my own hand sewing. it's a great project for our Tuesday afternoon get togethers... all hand projects there

I do my own binding but if I hated doing it I would certainly pay someone else to do it.

I enjoy binding a quilt but if I didn't I would think nothing of hiring someone to finish it. Kind of like machine quilting.

I not longer can do it by hand so it all gets done on the machine with a fancy stitch. my quilts are used and abused and not for show at least most of them so it works for me

Not likely. I do think hand binding is nicer because the stitches are hidden, but for various reasons I machine bind my quilts. It's not so much that I wouldn't be willing to pay someone, but more that I don't want to go through the effort of finding someone who can do it well and is reliable, then having to get the quilt to them and then get it back when they're done. If the Hand-Binding Fairy came to my house and did it while I was asleep, I'd gladly leave the money under my pillow.

No. I bind all my quilts by machine. Perfectly acceptable by me and I am the only one who counts, lol.

I bind mine but I also bind for customers who ask me to.i quilt for some folks who have arthritis or other issues that make binding painful or impossible, so it’s a service I offer.

If I am making it for a special person I will pay to have it done because my by hand looks awful. I do everything else on the machine.

I would if I hated doing it, or if I couldn't do it. At this point in my life I actually enjoy hand sewing the binding. It means one more quilt is almost done.
