The only problem I have with all these techniques is that they create a single layer binding. I always use 2 1/2 strips, fold them wrong sides together and then attach to my quilt. I did find a "foot" for the Simplicity binding machine that advertises that they make binding for quilters but it only folds the fabric in half and you have to still have to attach it to your quilt the way you always did. I have bought every attachment I could find--binding feet that attach to your machine (uses purchased single layer binding), one that attaches to the bed of your sewing machine--still makes single layer binding and the Simplicity binding machine whose regular "feet" make single layer binding. So all in all, if you use single layer strips to bind your quilts these all will work fine. I have yet to find one to do the double layer binding. If anyone knows of one that will please let me know!

I am to the point that I want to try out new gadgets before buying to make sure I will like and use them :D:D:D

For the price ... I wouldn't get it. Probably wouldn't even take it if it were free.
Once you get your system of doing binding established you won't need such a tool anyway and would just have to store it or give it away. ali |
Wow, that's an expensive alternative to using a couple of long pins. I have made both single fold and double fold using the pins method, by the way. The one snag is that if you haven't cut perfectly along the grain, and I never have managed it all the way through, then your loose threads will occasionally wrap themselves around the pins, but that's easy enough to fix.

Like someone else said too expensive I never have any problem doing my binding.

Too pricey for something so simple.

I'm afraid I would never use something like that. I don't even press my binding. I fold the strip in half pin it to the quilt and realign as I go. Never had a problem getting it on straight and like that the edges of the binding are more soft to the touch. Of course I don't enter quilt show either so that might make a difference for some.

Always something new...
