I bought the 6" Bloc Loc Ruler. Have only used it a couple times, but it works great. I need to make more HST so I can use it more.

Love them!!! I like them better than EB's ruler. They don't slip or wobble.

This ruler is on my list to buy when I go to nearby quilt shop this week. I've read great reviews about it from other quilters.

I've always just used my 6-1/2 inch square ruler to square up HST's. It seems to work fine for me - line up the diagonal line and swipe two sides, turn the block 180 degrees and do the same thing. But now that I looked at the video for the bloc lock, I can see that it might be helpful to keep the ruler from slipping.

Honestly, there are so many different rulers out there that it's difficult to know which ones would really be helpful and which are just a waste of money. I tend to not buy into the gadget spiel most of the time, but once in a while I find one that makes a big difference in time spent on blocks and accuracy. This might be the next one that makes its way into my studio!!

Looks like it's designed for seams that pressed to one side -

The cost of a notion won't break the bank and I'm not the type to care if I really need it before I buy. If I want to try a new quilting tool then I buy it and try it. This way I know for myself and can compare to the regular way or the make do way.

I was just given this ruler as a gift from a quilting friend and it is great! Once the seams are pressed to one side, the ruler "snugs" right up to the seam and the result is a perfect hst every time! The scrappy quilt I am working on right now requires 896 hst's. The ruler is perfect!

Okay saw a demo of this last week at Quilt Colorado. Then my friend had the rectangle ones so tried it at her house. I think they are expensive but will put it on my bucket list. I am really interested in their new one called the Cog which does dresden plate like designs. They had some very nice patterns for those. I would of loved them for a scrappy HST quilt I did last year.

I love my 6 1/2" HST BL ruler. It is the only specialty ruler I own. They are perfect if you like to make scrap quilts when every HST is different fabric. I have seen the other rulers demoed and I would like to collect them all if I could only afford it.
