I use the one on my sewing machine. I have a separate bobbin winder for the Sweet 16.

I use the one on my machine; and every time I change threads, I would wind up a couple of bobbins first before I begin. I have bought a side winder, and ended up giving it to a friend. Although it is convenient, you'd have to have at least a extra spool, unless you want to take the one out of your machine.

If I have been lazy and not pre wound before beginning a project or just need a little of a different color I use the winder because I hate to remove project from under needle, unthread, set up for bobbin wind, then pop into top load and re thread and then go! Except if I use my old Viking #1+, I can wind without all that..it has bottom load bobbin.....the other two have top load bobbins! not really fond of that feature but whatever

I use a separate bobbin winder when winding bobbins for my hand crank 201. I usually wind 10 at time. I use the one on the machine when sewing on my Janome. But I sew on my hand crank 90% of the time.

I use the winder on the machine in most cases, but I use a handcrank bobbin winder on my Singer Industrial Treadle. It will work for several sizes of bobbins.

Regular sewing I use the bobbin winder on the machine. If I'm using the empty Neb bobbins then I have a special bobbin winder for those. For the quilt machine I use the separate one that came with the machine.

I have a big bobbin and have to use the one on my machine. But I have one of those machines and I lost it in my sewing room somewhere. I was going to put it up on 'Offers' but I don't know when or if I'll ever find it.

When I start a project I will load up a bunch of bobbins using my bobbin winder. I think it "saves" my machines for what they are intended for - sewing. I have them all in line in my bobbin saver ring and ready for my project - I never have to worry about loading a bobbin again - just pull one out of the saver and put it in my machine and I'm off sewing some more! :D
