I agree with facing out. Such cute fabric!! That's going to be a darling quilt :)

The rule on setting border characters facing in or out is that there is no rule.
I've done both, but based on your cute fabric, for this case I would probably have them look in (like in second picture). Either way, it's a darling quilt! |
This is going to be a darling quilt. Please be sure to post picture when it's finished! ( I like the 2nd picture, too!)
Just don't over-think it...lovely either way...just get 'er done! |
yep, in looks great.

Most people are liking them facing in, but I prefer them facing out (as in the top picture) so that everyone else looking at the quilt will see them right side up. If you face them so the baby can see them, then they will be upside down to everyone else.
It is totally personal preference and will look beautiful no matter which way you choose to do it. :) |
ok, dumb question, I like it what I thought was "facing in" -- with the kids in the border's feet being against the quilt, why would that be called "facing out" like everyone else said?
The second picture... that just "looks right"... is that called facing "in" or "out"? |
Which ever way you like the best :D:D:D
I like the 2nd picture best |
To me the first pic is facing in. Their faces are closer "in" to the quilt center. Second pic is facing out. Their faces are looking "out" from the quilt. I prefer the 2nd pic.
|
Also in the first pic, it looks to me like they're standing on their heads.

It's a matter of choice. I prefer them facing in. I feel it draws the eye into the center.
