You could always go to the goodwill in your area. When they are changing seasonal clothing I believe they mark their clothing down and you could probably purchase them cheaper than buying new buttons in a store.

I just came across a site it is www.buttonsgalore.com
not sure what they have just came acrossed it. |
I look for buttons at thrift and goodwill stores, also yard sales. Presently I'm making an "altered book" called How To Sew On A Button. It's for my son. I have a few photos to add to pages on sewing on a button, also a bit of history on buttons and then things that pertain to buttons in general. Example: belly button, I have a photo of a tomato that looks like it has a belly button. My sister gave me buttons that she made by cutting deer antlers, those are neat.

Buttons. Buttons. I like buttons. LOL. I watch for them on clearance racks; use coupons for discounts; watch the local thrift stores, yard sales, etc. Bag sales at the thrift stores can be a good source as long as the bag price is reasonable. I've brought home many a $1 and $2 bags full of clothes with neat buttons on them. You'd be surprised how much you can stuff in a bag - especially if you roll things up. The clothes can also be taken apart and used as fabric, trims, rags, etc.
