buying fabric from Connecting Threads

I am in a hurry to make a quilt as a wedding present and I have seen a kit in Connecting Threads catalog that I like. I have never purchased fabric from CT before. Any advice? please.........

Krisb 06-27-2013 03:25 PM

I have bought from them, no problem. The kits can be very inexpensive when on sale, like $4 or $5 per yard. I have been known to buy a kit just because I like the fabric even if I don't like the fabric if it is on sale.

I have ordered many yards of fabric and have always been pleased. The one kit that I ordered came with plenty of material and was very easy to follow the directions. They also have specials for batting. Many buy their thread and are satisfied but I am finding my Bernina is a little picky about it. So to answer your question....good fabric and wonderful service. Don't you just love their new line of fabrics? Drool...drool!!!

thank you for your replay

I've done two of their kits and loved them. Plenty, plenty of fabric.

Quilty-Louise 06-27-2013 04:11 PM

I love love love CT fabrics. Sometimes I just sit in my fabric room and
run my hand over some of their fabric just to get "need" for fabric cured
for a very short time.

berryberry 06-27-2013 04:15 PM

I've ordered twice and both times I have been pleased. I haven't heard any negative comments.

quiltjoey 06-27-2013 04:20 PM

Have ordered much from the with no problems. The thread works fine for me.

Deb watkins 06-27-2013 04:26 PM

Love them, love them, love them.

Tttdoc 06-27-2013 04:42 PM

I have ordered several kits from Connecting Threads and have had no issues. I would not hesitate ordering from them again. Highly recommended!

Connecting Threads is my go to place. I have never been disappointed in their kits or fabric.

sandy l 06-28-2013 02:11 AM

I have never ordered kits from CT, just fabrics, but have been very pleased with quality of the fabric and their service.

Jackie Spencer 06-28-2013 03:03 AM

Their fabric is great and the prices are wonderful. I love love their thread, I have a Bernina, and have no problems using it, but I do clean the bobbin area and under the stitch plate every time I fill my bobbin. Their service is fantastic, too!

qwkslver 06-28-2013 03:34 AM

I love Connecting Threads. Their fabric is pretty, good quality, love their kits.

Has anyone purchased flannel from Connecting Threads? I need some for the backing of a quilt.

jbud2 06-28-2013 03:59 AM

just got my new catalog - man, it is hard to resist! I think I'll order and have it sent to my sister. then I can tell my husband that my sister gave me this fabric! And yes, you get plenty of fabric in a kit. I got the table runner kit with the patriotic fabric. Made up the one the pattern is for, cut & pieced the backing for it, AND made another large runner with the leftovers in the D9P pattern.

teddysmom 06-28-2013 04:55 AM

I've been very pleased with the kits I've ordered from CT. Will order again when I see one I like.

BellaBoo 06-28-2013 04:59 AM

I made a baby quilt from CT print flannel. It's thick and soft and doesn't shrink much at all. The quilt has been washed many times and the colors are still bright.

eparys 06-28-2013 05:12 AM

I have ordered as well from them several times and been pleased. The two kits were generous and the fabrics purchased by the yard were fine. I only had one fabric that I did not care for the quality - but I used it anyways and the quilt came out fine. I just got the newest catalog and absolutely LOVE the quilt on the cover (the snowmen) - just trying to rationalize another project - lol!

I order often from Connecting Threads. I love their thread, fabric and kits. I have never been disappointed in anything I've received from them. Just do it! You'll love it.

tezell0801 06-28-2013 05:56 AM

I have recently used them for thread and fabric. Very fast delivery and I love everything I have gotten so far. I would not hesitate to order from them. Great sales too. I use their thread in my new long arm with great luck.

salemrabbits 06-28-2013 05:58 AM

I have not had any problems with any purchases I have made. One kit I did order was backordered--it arrived in a reasonable time.

mrs. fitz 06-28-2013 06:52 AM

Only ordered one kit (great sale price) because I liked the fabric but I've ordered fabric and thread from them several times and have always been pleased. If anyone who works there is on this board she must be very happy with the always positive comments about her workplace. I'd recommend you go for it.

dcamarote 06-28-2013 06:58 AM

I have bought fabric from them several times. I was disappointed in the quality of my one order but the others were fine.

Retired Fire Chief 06-29-2013 02:51 AM

I have ordered from them before and love their fabrics and their prices. Before my first order I called them because I couldn't believe the low, low prices on their precuts and wanted to make sure I was reading correctly. They explained they have no middle-man, their fabrics are theirs, which keeps their prices so low.

Yes, I've ordered the flannel and it was by far the best I've purchased in a long time. Even better than at the qult shops! There wasn't much shrinkage and it really had a nice, soft feel..

patsynel 06-29-2013 04:49 AM

I have ordered several kits from CT. I was pleased with the fabric. I order from them often.

justflyingin 06-29-2013 04:57 AM

I ordered some fabric from them for the first time and it was waiting for me when we got to the states. It is fine--haven't used it yet, but can't wait to try something.

winia 06-29-2013 04:58 AM

I buy fabric from Connecting Threads all the time, and I've never had a problem. I also buy their thread, which is vey good thread.

sunrise450 06-29-2013 05:25 AM

I have ordered fabric from them and have always been very satisfied. Their fabric is wonderful. I have also ordered kits and found that there is more than enough fabric to finish with plenty left over.

sewbizgirl 06-29-2013 06:16 AM

They have good fabric... sturdy, not thin.

dianeinsterling 06-29-2013 06:45 AM

I've ordered from them a lot and have never had a problem. Their material is very nice and I use their thread almost exclusively for piecing.

sahm4605 06-29-2013 06:47 AM

I love connecting threads fabrics. especially the batiks. they are really soft and easy to work with.

RedGarnet222 06-29-2013 06:49 AM

I love the batting they offer there too. The hobbs 80/20 is really a nice batting. Funny you have trouble with the thread cones from there, my berinia's work fine with it for quilting.

Oh and I feel good about ordering the fabric there. It is made in the good old USA.

junegerbracht 06-29-2013 07:30 AM

I have bought several kits form Connecting Threads and have always been please. Fabric in kits is generous - not always my experience when buying kits from LQS's or other online sellers. Order with confidence. You will be happy.

selm 06-29-2013 07:31 AM

I love their fabrics and kits. Always good. BUT, my only complaint is that when they sell out of a kit or fabric that's it. It's gone and it goes fast. Last fall they came out with a line of red fabrics that I loved. But I waited too long( a month, I think) and when I went to order the kits were gone as well as the fabrics I wanted. So, if you like something act fast!

feffertim 06-29-2013 07:36 AM

They are great. Their fabric is wonderful, their kits are generous, their prices are the best and customer service is outstanding.

Jackietellijohn60 06-29-2013 07:36 AM

The reason I can AFFORD to quilt is because of CT. Several orders later, I am an ecstatic customer. Especially love their batiks, kits, and thread.
