I was excited when my friend told me about this group.......but now I am not so sure it was a good idea........I haven't done d single thing today......I have been looking at pictures and reading posts.......and I'm not finished yet.....Oh well, I live alone so I guess if I want to sit here the rest of the day and night and visit I can.

I have really been enjoying seeing everyones projects.

Jeanniejo 07-01-2010 10:57 AM

This is a great site and the best thing about it is that you can't use it up

PurplePassion 07-01-2010 10:57 AM

Hey , join the rest of us , I think most of us have the same problem. But you sure learn alot.

erstan947 07-01-2010 11:10 AM

I have gotten to where I allow myself a certain amount of time then it's off to quilt, clean, or whatever. Love this board!

janRN 07-01-2010 11:23 AM

Me, too. I'm having one of those days where I can't get motivated to do anything. Just found out I don't have to work tomorrow--that means I can procratinate even more today. Don't feel like sewing-hate the project I'm working on. Could clean but no one's sticking to kitchen floor yet. Oh well, I'll just stay here awhile longer.

mlaceruby 07-01-2010 11:24 AM

I take a 15-20 minuite break from sewing every few hours.
keeps me from getting achy sewing for long periods.
and I can sit here and the time goes so fast!

littlehud 07-01-2010 11:29 AM

Oh I know what you mean. This site is addictive.

janRN 07-01-2010 11:33 AM

Well we're not the only ones--I just looked and there are over 200 logged on users right now.

mlaceruby 07-01-2010 11:40 AM

oh coffee
need to go get some!
It's cool here today and I am going to sit and watch a movie! Just don't feel like sewing anymore today.
after I get done with all the new topics of course!

mimee4 07-01-2010 11:47 AM

So glad you are part of this group. I think most of us keep check on each other and what's happening.

wildyard 07-01-2010 01:44 PM

Personally I love Marsye's donuts. They are the only ones that don't stick right to my hips!! LOL
Welcome to the board and you will always be in great company here.

Pam 07-01-2010 02:00 PM

yeah, i find myself reading, thinking, planning and talking about quilting a whole lot more than actually doing it. i have found it's the same way with prayer

jolo 07-02-2010 04:24 AM

I spend way too much time here every day

T-Bones mom 07-02-2010 04:24 AM

This site is addicting. I am having my morning coffee and reading.I have three more batches of candy left to make for my GD's graduation party but think I will stay here for a while longer. The party isn't till tomorrow. I will have plenty of time if I ever get off the computer.

Nanjun 07-02-2010 04:34 AM

I think we are all in the same "boat" Would rather sit here and look at pictures, links, paterns, tips, etc.
I do feel guilty sometimes for just sitting here and reading every item on QB. Learning lots of good things.

Sharoni 07-02-2010 04:48 AM

First thing in the morning I come into my sewing room. I read my bible, pray, then hit the computer and go right to here. I usually spend my first two hours of the day that way. By then the husband is up and I have to leave to make the breakfast. But, I do wander back throughout the day. I am so glad to have this wonderful message board.

CarrieAnne 07-02-2010 04:53 AM

LOL, it really IS addicting!!!!!!!!!

dar627742 07-02-2010 04:57 AM

i know what you mean ! i think i spend more time o the board than i do quilting ![in fact i KNOW i do]

Moon Holiday 07-02-2010 05:03 AM

Set the project aside and start on something new and exciting. It's okay to have several projects in the works!

Well......I did stick to my floor near the fridge.....but that's a quick wipe up! :) I also just learned I have an unplanned 5 days off. Thought I was going to have to work a day in the middle.....but yipee!!! Does the JanRN mean you are a nurse?? I recognize the work schedule if you are. :) Who else gets to work weekends and holidays on a regular basis?

Boston1954 07-02-2010 05:20 AM

Oh, but the board is good for you. Just think of all the ideas you will get while looking at other people's quilts.

aorlflood 07-02-2010 06:22 AM

I think there needs to be a 12 Step group for those like me who are addicted to this site!

"Hi, my name's Loretta... and I'm addicted to quiltingboard.com."

iltoaz 07-02-2010 06:33 AM

I get my coffee and log on to "chat" and share ideas with friends. Thanks to all

granny guilter 07-02-2010 06:36 AM

I know what you mean. I would rather quilt than clean house.

MonkeeGirl 07-02-2010 07:53 AM

Clean house??? Not as long as we have this wonderful board. I go by the saying "If you complain about something being dirty or dusty, clean it yourself, and it won't be dirty/dusty anymore" (my hubby and 3 sons ALL know how to dust and mop!) LOL

janRN 07-02-2010 08:12 AM

OMG I'm so embarrassed. Patches was just licking something off the kitchen floor--who knows what it was but he seemed to like it. Oh well-that's one spot I won't have to wipe LOL.
Lori: yes I'm a nurse; 38 years of nursing and am semi-retired or so I planned. DH lost his job 2 weeks after I gave notice so I work as needed (which is about 30 hrs per week). So much for retirement!!

I'm an RN. My dept. is open M-F with weekends and holidays covered by "on-call"...so yes...I do call about every 4-5 weekends and have one "major" holiday call per year. July 3'rd is part of my "weekend call", I also was on-call Saturday of Easter weekend, and my holiday call is New Years Day 2011.

And BTW...July 3rd is our wedding anniversary! And I get to spend it on-call and most likely at work! :(

The joys of being a nurse...

Ditter43 07-02-2010 09:30 AM

Welcome from Florida!!! Glad you could join us!! There is so much good information here, you can't digest it all at once....We'll still be here tomorrow!

jolo 07-02-2010 10:11 AM

Yes as a retired Surgical nurse, I spent many years on call
