It is a tool that is used with carbon paper to tract lines on fabric with carbon paper to transfer the marks to fabric.

Brings back the memories! The one I had wasn't as fancy or as new as that one. Used it all the time to mark the dart lines, etc. on my sewing projects...back when dresses were very form fitting and had big skirts! (and I had a 23" waist)

I think I still have one of those and some very old tracing paper in my very old sewing box.

Thank you all. I laughed with some of the comments. I tried to cut paper with it, and that didn't work, so I tried to cut cloth with it, and that didn't work. I asked my husband, and he had no idea. ROFL. He said it was something sharp. LOL. It has a little curved metal piece on it, what is that for?

It's a collectible til it is at least 50 yrs old. My mom was an antique dealer. Tho it really depends on what type of item you are talking about as differant things are antique at differant ages. But the general rule is 50 yrs.

Oh, back in 'the day' we had tracing paper and you'd put the paper on your fab and the pattern on top and then you'd take this little roller and trace the pattern. The dotted line.........oh the memories, you kids have no idea!
