I tried regular clear vinyl that I bought at Joanns and it works pretty good for me. and a whole lot cheaper.

Buy heavy clear plastic that comes on a roll at fabric stores (the kind used for tablecloths). It can be cut to any size and lays flat on sewing table and you can cut to any size. I cut a rectangle in mine to expose throat plate and cover the entire sewing area. Try it, very economical. I bought mine at Walmart.

I bought my supreme slider from Amazon and saved a bit. I think it works really great, my first use of it was using fusiable batting, no nasty residue on my machine bed, made it more than worth the $.

And if you spray it with a little silicone spray it is MUCH more slippery. Silicone spray is not greasy and will not stain. Just wipe it lightly with a paper towel to distribute evenly. You only need a tiny bit. Ann in TN

You just cut out around the needle area and drape the extra over the bed of your machine and any table that you have near by. Ann in TN
