for those of you that have the plastic covering your table.. do you have it on there all the time? or just when you machine quilt? Does it make all sewing easier?

In a pinch you can tape parchment to the bed of the machine.
I did buy the supreme slider and its "ok", what I need is for my machine to be level with the tabletop, then the slider will really work, as for now I have to work uphill.

The Supreme slider comes in 2 sizes. Leah Day has it on her website for sale. They aren't exactly cheap, but hers is as reasonable as any. She has the teflon washers that go under the bobbins to make them slide faster without jerking. I will look up the website and send it along. saw it yesterday. Be patient and I will send it.

If you watch thes tutorials, it may help with free motion quilting. Somewhere, if you dig into this, there is a picture of Leha using the supreme slider, which she also sells on her home page. She mentions the website during the message. She also critiques the Janome Horizon, which I bought and love. Would recommend and if you negotiate hard, you can get it for much less, about $2,000 if they are hungry for a sale, no table included or extras.
This tutorial is great for new or betinning FMQs also.
