Wish I had some to sell

kathy 02-13-2011 08:35 AM

surely that's a typo

Lv2sew2011 02-13-2011 08:35 AM

To me this is crazy!

brenda21 02-13-2011 08:36 AM

that is just insanity LOL

dakotamaid 02-13-2011 08:36 AM

They are vintage, I would say maybe the 30s or 40s. That must be why the price, although I would not pay that but serious collectors will pay most anything.

shequilts 02-13-2011 08:38 AM

someone's lost their_______mind!

Charlee 02-13-2011 08:42 AM

Aren't they a vintage PRINT, rather than a vintage fabric? How long has Free Spirit been around?

are they embeded with gold or something, LOL

quilt1950 02-13-2011 08:50 AM

Another set just sold for $152.50. 6 fat quarters plus 1/2 yard. WOW

greensleeves 02-13-2011 08:52 AM

They are a line no longer printed, not vintage except in appearance. They are beautiful but one has to draw the line somewhere. Someone is apparently interested, the seller has several listings and they are all "up there".

littlehud 02-13-2011 08:58 AM

No way. Those prices are crazy.

sueisallaboutquilts 02-13-2011 09:01 AM

Yikes!! That's a bit over the top for me. I do like that seller though and have bought nice new fabbies from her.

np3 02-13-2011 09:23 AM

Well I had to go look and see what these are. I don't recall this line being that special and these prices are silly. There has to be a story behind this. Her starting bid was $99.

raedar63 02-13-2011 09:27 AM

Just think how sick you would be if you made a wrong cut!

At that price, I don't think I COULD cut them! Maybe frame them instead!LOL

debbieumphress 02-13-2011 10:22 AM

I sent NP3 a fat pack that was 25.00 for just 8 cuts and it was nuts but I had to show her so I bought them and sent them to her. I think she figured them to be 35.00/yd. LOL.
I think sheis buying a cabinet to keep them in. ROFL :-D :-D

$37.50 a yard and I'm getting a shadow box with a lock and key. There's gold in there somewhere!!!! They are smaller that a fat 8th.

jaciqltznok 02-13-2011 02:51 PM

with all the fabric I have, why oh why don't I have any of these to sell???

dungeonquilts 02-13-2011 03:07 PM

This is the second time we have seen posting ( on ebay ) of this high cost...something isn't right!!

lighthouse 02-13-2011 03:36 PM

I cannot believe what I see on Ebay sometimes!!!

Midwestmary 02-13-2011 03:41 PM

Interesting to me that someone would have that much disposable cash!

pocoellie 02-13-2011 03:54 PM

They'd have to be solid gold or some other precious metal before I'd pay that much for them. They're insane(my opinion).

jansquiltn 02-14-2011 03:23 AM

I guess if you can afford it. Go for it.

CarrieAnne 02-14-2011 03:54 AM

Wow, dont ya all wish we had some to sell, lol!

Yooper32 02-14-2011 04:39 AM

Crazy, just plain crazy.

Zappycat 02-14-2011 04:46 AM

Early on in eBay you could get some crazy prices for fabric. I sold a yard of out of print fabric for $60. It was Rose and Hubble flower fairy fabric. Then the guy ordered MORE at the eBay winning bid price.. he didn't even ask for a break.... he spent over $600! He was doing the New York gift show and using the fabric to decorate his booth. That flower fairy fabric was like gold back then, and the William Morris prints, too! I remember some days I would get $1000 in the mail as fabric payment!

stitchinwitch 02-14-2011 05:02 AM

It MUST be in another country????????????????

honeybee_2000 02-14-2011 05:21 AM

I shop in ebay 24/7 and Ive never seen anything go that high. There had to be a mistake somewhere.

fayefromfla 02-14-2011 05:24 AM

no way!!

Zappycat 02-14-2011 05:28 AM

I think that those fabrics are considered "collectible." I've seen people mention that fabric line on other forums and people are always looking for them. Once they are out of print, if they are in demand... anything goes!

Connie Merritt 02-14-2011 05:50 AM

I surely hope that the buyers of these "expensive" fabrics will place them in a time capsule, cause no one would believe what they spent on them. These are NOT Picasso. So what is the big interest and price. Makes no sense to me.

honeybee_2000 02-14-2011 06:07 AM

I checked out this auction and the starting bid was 99.00. Unbelievable that anyone would even start a bid for vintage fabric for that price.

damaquilts 02-14-2011 06:44 AM

they can have it. I saw a fat quarter what would have been almost $10 with shipping. That stayed there too.

Susanna10 02-14-2011 06:59 AM

Unbelievable!!! and they still have shipping on top of that.

pad's 02-14-2011 09:06 AM

I think it's a great price considering the "cutter person" & "sewer person" come included !!!!!
Must be something we are missing.....

kellen46 02-14-2011 09:13 AM

Hey I have a bunch of that fabric in my stash....I may be vintage but the fabric isn't. Does this make me rich now since I have all this spendy fabric on the shelves??

cla8655 02-14-2011 09:22 AM

hope they know what they are getting, and I hope the husbands know what the ladies are buying :)

katsewnsew 02-14-2011 09:36 AM

I have some of those, paid $4.00 yd about 3 years ago. On ebay. Now I am searching for the seller to see if she has more. If I spent that much on fabric, you might as well shoot me cuz that is exactly what my DH would do!

KrystelsQuilts 02-14-2011 09:37 AM

I was just thinking the same thing
