I was lucky enough to obtain some cotton fabric samples. :-D

These are described as 100% cotton glazed chintz - and are Made in England. About 1960's vintage. I think they are curtaining fabric and are only just heavier than quilting cotton, with a shiny surface - shinier than polished cotton.

Would they be suitable for a quilt? I have enough to make about 3/4 large quilts, and I am very tempted to use them. What do you think.

I would go for it. Would be a bit of a cow to handquilt, but maybe tie or machine quilt (I'm thinking you may need a denim needle). I think those polished chintz fabrics are stunning...Pics would be very cool.

yes you can use them but i would wash and dry them first

They are each 16 inches x 19 inches and I have about 70 of them

Lovely selection you have there....would work well with quite a few colours...reds, greens, pinks....

I agree- they are gorgeous prints. Look forward to seeing how they turn out. Let us know if you run into any problems sewing with them.
