Christmas Light Block
1 Attachment(s)
Every Nov., our guild has a Christmas Exchange block. We can make any 12.5 inch block with a Christmas theme. I made this Christmas Light block using tiny scraps. We wrap our blocks and then they are passed out randomly.
I have 16 blocks saved so far. I would like to do a quilt as you go style quilt where you quilt each block individually. Does anyone have any good tutorials? Thank you and Merry Merry Christmas! |
That is so cute, and what a neat idea.

Cute block. Check out u-tube, some great ones on there.

Nice looking block!

basically you bind each block then whipstitch the blocks together. I did some of this in the 90's and used one of my machine stitches to sew the blocks together.
Potholder quilts is the current name I think, they were called quilt as you go back then http://www.marcusfabrics.com/feature...l#.WF0oMPkrLIU I think this blogger is behind the resurgence of the technique http://theconstantquilter.blogspot.c...revisited.html edited to say, way cute block :) and like the quilting on the background! |
Very pretty like that idea

Lovely job!
As far as QAYG, there are lots of different methods. I like to sandwich and quilt, trim all to the same size then attach like this: http://www.quiltingboard.com/tutoria...l-t283918.html |
I would really like to see all of your other blocks......any possibility of that happening??? Please, and thank you.
Merry Christmas. |
Very nicely done!
