Civil War GFG samples-What do you think?
1 Attachment(s)
I recently posted that I had cut out 2000 squares (2.5") of Civil War fabric to make a Grandmother's Flower Garden quilt. However, after I cut them out they seemed too dull for that type of pattern. I basted some together and laid them out on top of muslin to see how they look. What do you think? Too dull?

They fabrics look nice together.
A suggestion - if you are planning to put 'paths' between each 'flower' - maybe make all the outside rounds of comparatively light or comparatively dark fabrics? So that it would be easier to choose a 'background' type of fabric? Right now, it looks like you are using a medium/lighter fabric for the outside round. |
I think they look beautiful. It won't be bright but civil wars colors never are.

Definitely NOT too dull for me, but if you wish to get rid of them, Im game!!! They truly are beautiful.

I think they are beautiful and a nice lighter small designed sash or a darker background would make them pop as much as you would need for the Civil war type quilt.

Beautiful!
