How meny people still hang cloths outdoors? I do and am looking for clothspin bag. I remember one that was cute little dress, can't find A pattern. Any other cute ones would be fine also.

cherylynne 07-23-2011 06:40 PM

I saw the pattern at my LQS a few days ago. It's still being printed. Just put clothes pin bag in search engine and came up with quite a few free patterns. One even looked like a dress.

craftybear 07-23-2011 06:45 PM

I used a free pattern from tipnut here: http://tipnut.com/11-free-clothespin-bag-patterns/

Here's a picture of the one I made: http://debzpicaday.blogspot.com/2011...28-of-365.html

Very cute, just what I had in mind. Thanks

khurtdvm 07-23-2011 07:32 PM

I would love to hang clothes out sometimes. But my husband thinks it looks tacky, silly man. And the neighborhood we recently moved into prohibits clotheslines, though I could probably get away with retractable ones in our backyard, due to the privacy fence.

I like the clothespin bags!

Pickles 07-23-2011 07:50 PM

Love the Clothespin bags I'm thinking that all one would have to do is go to thrift stores and get a few little girls dresses are shirts and sew the bottoms closed and hand stitch a piece of ribbon on the back of the dress by the neck to tie onto the hanger to keep it in place, and you'd have a great clothespin bag. :-D

quiltingnonie 07-23-2011 07:54 PM

I've made many many of them like the one pictured by clynns.
Sold them for $10 each at craft fairs. I've had the pattern a long time, but believe I purchased it from Clotilde.com

And yes, I hang a lot of things out on the line

I made one for my daughter and she uses it to hold those plastic bags from the grocery store. Looks cute all puffed out.

I do, but my little pin bag dress is a vintage one!

MistyMarie 07-23-2011 08:04 PM

I didn't know that these existed... I hang out my sheets, but not my clothes. I always take my clothespins off the line each time and store them in a small container, but I really like this idea!

Painiacs 07-23-2011 08:15 PM

I hang stuff occas depends on allergies. Rather hang clothes outside!

:-D :-D :-D I made my own pattern for a dress like yours and I don't have it in this puter, other wise I would share the pattern. It's in my old puter and it crashed some time ago. Good luck with what you do. Huggies, Fay

How would it be to find a child's dress or shirt and seam it up for one...easy...I think I will try it!

lillybeck 07-24-2011 04:06 AM

I no loner hang clothes because of allergies but I did used to make bags from toddler dresses by sewing up the bottom and putting it on a regular hanger.

stitchofclass2 07-24-2011 04:10 AM

Keepsake Quilts has one.

Steady Stiching 07-24-2011 04:39 AM

I'm about to lose my precious close line, due to a fencing change. Making sure I've got a new one ASAP.
Why is it in these days of "eco friendly" everything no one is pushing closeline drying? Plus...it free!

I made this one. I didn;t have a pattern just made it up!

mscupid804 07-24-2011 05:10 AM

mts, I have one like the one you're talking abotu but I don't have a pattern for it. If I took a pic of it, do you think you could make a pattern by it?

Great idea!

Iamquilter 07-24-2011 05:12 AM

I still hang my clothes out, but I just use an ice cream pail and set my basket on a little bench my hubby made along with the pail.

thrums 07-24-2011 05:17 AM

My mom had an apron for clothes pins.

Thanks for the links. Sure beats my plastic bag!

MargeD 07-24-2011 05:28 AM

I know exactly what you are looking for and I think I saw a pattern in Keepsake Quilting, but not 100% sure. It might be a good place to start.

GirlieWhirlie 07-24-2011 05:31 AM

After looking at the pictures, why couldn't you buy a childs dress at a thrift shop and just close off the bottom or add a pouch inside? I've seen really cute dresses.

mtkoldra 07-24-2011 05:41 AM

I do, I use line and folding rack that I put on my deck or inside the house in the winter. I use the dryer when trees are pollinating and sometimes in the winder

smiley 07-24-2011 05:42 AM

I still hang and love it!! Check tipnut.com and in their search put in clothspin bags and see what you find. They have great recipes, patterns, ideas. Have subscribed for several years. Good luck.

Lindsey 07-24-2011 05:45 AM

my husband also told me we weren't allowed to hang laundry in our township.. I do.. I use a basket for my clothes pins. I should think you could just take a childs dress and sew up the bottom . Just use a childs hanger to hang the dress and there you have a clothes pin bag..

mtspools 07-24-2011 05:45 AM

Thanks everyone for the input!! What A wonderful thing to have QB friends.

mtspools 07-24-2011 05:48 AM

Don't understand why they would say you can't hang laundry out. Saves lot money in these hard time's. But there is lot things don't make sence to me. :D

BMP 07-24-2011 05:50 AM

I still hang out laundry each week !!! I dont like to put many of my things in the dryer. I found a pin bag at Walmart but next time I need one I will certainly be making one.

Becky Mc 07-24-2011 05:53 AM

I hang clothes outside it saves on the electric bill and when you live by yourself you have to save where you can and besides there isn't anything better then sheets hung outside smells wonderful!!!!!!
