I've just joined the "needle through the finger" club. Pulling up the bobbin thread and somehow, I don't know how, I was looking at the needle stuck through my finger. Surprisingly it didn't hurt, but it sure did bleed. The good news is that there was no blood on the quilt. Glad I had my tetanus shot last year.

babyfireo4 09-20-2011 12:03 PM

Welcome, our club is an often painful and unexpected one :) Hope it heals quick!

butterflies5518 09-20-2011 12:04 PM

Oh no! poor baby - I haven't joined this club Yet! Hope you are feeling better super soon....

quiltlonger 09-20-2011 12:07 PM

that sounds like a good idea. Unfortunately he thinks a night out is going for a ride in our antique truck. I'd rather stay home and sew

marscrafter 09-20-2011 12:24 PM

Sorry to hear you got hurt. The good news is that it's unlikely you will sew through your finger again. Since I sewed through mine I've been extra careful. LOL Hope your finger is better soon!

QuiltnNan 09-20-2011 12:24 PM

ouch! speedy healing to you. glad the quilt was spared.

Izaquilter 09-20-2011 12:36 PM

ouch hurts to even think about it!

dunster 09-20-2011 12:37 PM

Ouch, poor thing. Hope it heals quickly.

jaciqltznok 09-20-2011 01:22 PM

ouch....hope you heal quick...

littlehud 09-20-2011 01:25 PM

What a pain. I hope you get to feeling better soon. Welcome to the club

Yellow Bird 09-20-2011 02:06 PM

Congratulations! Only the special get to join this group....I joined this spring!

1000projects 09-20-2011 02:20 PM

I am in this one AND the rotary accident club. The latter - much more painful!

quiltpd 09-20-2011 02:48 PM

Sorry you had to join our "club". It's always a surprise when that happens. And, not a good one !

OneMoreQuilt 09-20-2011 03:01 PM

Ouch!!! I'm sooo sorry.

Baby Catcher 09-20-2011 03:05 PM

Ouch. I haven't joined yet but I worry when I sew bags on my Singer 201 because its so powerful and the space under the foot is roomy.

4dogs 09-20-2011 03:19 PM

yep, I belong to that club too..........felt so dumb....

cathyvv 09-20-2011 03:19 PM

Now there's a club I'm happy to be excluded from. I did get very close to being admitted once, but just bruised my finger.

But straight pins - they jump off the fabric and pierce my hands all the time!

I better get a tetanus shot. It's been a long time since I had one.

mzmama 09-20-2011 06:44 PM

Membership is growing...

wvdek 09-20-2011 06:47 PM

Eww, oww, ick. Here's a kissy kiss for your poor little finger.

momcpo 09-20-2011 06:50 PM

Ouch! Happy to say I'm not in that club yet, just the rotary mishap club. Heal quickly. :0)

Willa 09-20-2011 08:20 PM

No offence meant but I hope I never get to join that club! Hope it heals fast.

Sienna's GiGi 09-21-2011 01:26 AM

Oh God! I pass on this one. The membership fees are painfully too high!

Yooper32 09-21-2011 02:29 AM

I am cringing, just thinking about it. I am sure that my stomach just curled up in a small ball. Do take care it doesn't get infected and give that machine a good talking to.

scrapykate 09-21-2011 02:30 AM

oh dear, don't want to join this club.

harvsstuff 09-21-2011 02:49 AM

Ouch I'm sorry you have joined what I fear is not an exclusive club. As for getting blood on your quilt the rule of thumb is "your blood your spit". In other words your spit will remove your blood and yes it does.

mimiknoxtaylor 09-21-2011 03:14 AM

Ouch! Welcome to the club.

LivelyLady 09-21-2011 03:58 AM

I joined that club in Aug when the rotary cutter slipped and sliced my index finger!

Digitizingqueen 09-21-2011 04:06 AM

Hope it doesn't hurt after guess it depends where you sewed thru - feel better soon

RonieM 09-21-2011 04:09 AM

Welcome to the club. BOTH times I did it, I was sewing late at night.

valleyquiltermo 09-21-2011 04:12 AM

Haven't joined the club, Knock on wood!!
I find a good shot of Crown helps when in pain, LOL
I do hope it heals soonest.

GJoyce 09-21-2011 04:14 AM

OUCH. Been many years but remember too well the surprise when it happened. Pain not so bad going in but had a hard time getting it out. Haven't sewn a lot for so long forgot about it but glad to have the reminder so I watch more careful getting back to the machine work.

ljs317 09-21-2011 04:28 AM

ouch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Grama Chris 09-21-2011 04:42 AM

I'm in 2 clubs....

I have sewed through my finger 3 times in my life so far & the last time it happened our GS was over to sew. When I did he he immediately got a pr of pliers to her out so he pulled the needle out, got some band-aids & fixed Grama all up he was so proud but it hurt something fierce, NO BLOOD ON THE QUILT!

I had to take my daughter to the ER so when we were done with that we went to a quilt shop it was soooooooooo busy my friend there let me cut my own fabric. While cutting it the entire brd slipped & I cut my L thumb all the way through the nail, well needless to say it was back to the ER since we couldn't stop the bleeding for 8 stitches! NO BLOOD ON THE FABRIC! Every time I go back there it's funnier then heck I'v learned a lesson let them do the cutting even if it's busy & you know them :)

abdconsultant 09-21-2011 04:44 AM

no, i don't want to join....hope its better now!

scrappy2 09-21-2011 04:47 AM

I don't belong to that club yet but I think a bandaid and a small fabric shopping trip is in order. Then you will feel better in the morning. Hope it feels better soon!

quiltbuddy 09-21-2011 04:48 AM

Sorry about your accident. I also joined a similar club over the weekend when I cut my finger with the rotary cutter.

nuffsaid 09-21-2011 04:51 AM

Well, dear friend, this is a club that I have not yet joined, and I hope I *never* join! So glad that the needle did not hit bone, and that you did not bleed on your quilt. I hope you have happier sewing after this! Carolyn

orangeroom 09-21-2011 04:52 AM

Oh, silly Patty! I hope it heals quickly. Neosporin and bandaids!
