Absolutely the purple. Are you placing vertical strips in between each set of coins and if so, what color are you using?

Oh geez - I like them both too - but I lean toward #2 - it has a very cool and soothing look.

Teal is my favorite color so I vote #2 with no purple.

I really like the purple in the quilt. It is beautiful either way but the purple really adds to it.
