Lots of great suggestions here for how to help your daughter develop her talent, & gain organizational & merchandizing skills. What I want to let you know is (I teach middle/high school students) this is such a valuable part Of her life! Especially middle, but high school too has some rough aspects and difficult experiences as our kids grow up. Having something like this that allows her to express herself, give her self confidence and a place of comfort and time to think and regroup is so valuable. She is so fortunate to discover this for herself and have such an encouraging mom. This will give you 2 a connection and common ground you both will cherish. How awesome!

How nice! Love the picture of your daughter and her cute bag.

I envy you! I can't get my girls interested in quilting let alone sewing. One has started to crochet so maybe there is hope there.

My 12 yo daughter has been bit by the quilting bug and is actually using fabric from my stash. She actually made me cut up some of my prettys so she could make bags. She started sewing in August and now asks only a weekly basis to go to LQS or just goes down and picks which ones she wants to use for her current bag project. How does a house deal with 2 fabricholics? I'm not sure my budget will like it, I know its not the end of the world but she wants me to cut my fabric. Seriously, her bags are great and she is going to be starting her first lap quilt today. |
What wonderful memories you are building.........and a proud time for both of you. She did a fabulous job.

I love that! SHe sure is a cutie and so is her bag! How fun that you two enjoy doing the same thing. My daughter could care less about quilts or sewing. Now, my grandson is fascinated by my fabric. Maybe he'll be a quilter!!
