I have used the Crayola Washable markers many times with good luck. I did find out that if you make a mistake and spritz it with water it will run instead of coming out, but it does all come out when washed.
I forgot to mention I very seldom pre wash my fabrics. I like the feel of working with unwashed fabric. |
Fantastic. Thanks.

I only use Washable Markers for marking my quilts. I use them to mark measurements and use them to trace stencils for fmq. I have never had a problem w/them. I you use them for marking anything and find you've made a mistake, then use the tide to go stick and wait a few min and let it dry and then remark and go on. I Love Them.

i've had the blue water erasing markers not come out- i've had some chalks not come out i've had washable quilters pencil---not come out but then again-i've had all of them also work perfectly- i've had good luck with things my famous quilting pal has had horrible luck with-i've had her favorite marker ruin a quilt of mine--- each project each tool- needs to be tested. |
Haven't used crayola's but love using Elmer's washable glue for bindings and craft projects.

I learned about these markers at a free motion quilting class. The instructor used green. She said she tested the markers by leaving the color on her test piece for a long time and then washing and it all came out!! So, since then I haven't hesitated to use them.

I've used generic dollar store WASHABLE markers with sucess, but as was mentioned, check every project every time. But I've never had a problem, eiher.

I use water soluble markers and have had no problems.
I recently found a pen at my local quilt shop made by Pilot called FriXion ball pens and it it incredible. It disappears with the easy press of an iron. I have ordered a package of 8 (assorted colors) from Amazon.com. I love it because I don't have to wet my fabric to remove the ink as is the case with the water soluble markers. |
I've been using these for 4 years now (even the dark colors). Never had a problem with them staining.
