First, here is a you tube link to see them being made:

Using one jelly roll you randomly sew all the strips together. They are attached end to end with a diagonal seam. This results in a strip about 1600 inches (!) long. You cut off 18 inches from one end. Take the two ends, rights sides together, and make one seam down one side of what now is 800 inches, cutting the bottom. Then you brings ends together again, right sides together and sew one side, cutting the bottom. You do this until you go from a 1600 inch strip to a 48X64 top. The pattern is really neat, and the you tube link shows several completed tops. It is taking me about an hour to sew the initial strips end to end then about another hour to sew all the seams.

I have a little satin jewelry bag that is just a couple circles with a drawstring closure. It's too small for my use, but it's on my list of things to try to improve upon. Pics later------maybe!

I went to the Quilt Expo in Madison,WI yesterday and picked up a couple of quick patterns for XMas gifts. I can't wait to get started but I have to wait until after this Weekend. We are having our guild's quilt show which I am in charge of Demonstrations, Decorations and a Raffle basket. I am in charge of the raffle quilt too but my job is done on that one (I designed it and made sure it was completed).

I'm selling items in a craft show so I have a lot of Christmas things made. I'm not making much for family this year, but I'm about half way done with my shopping for grands and kids.

I need to get a jelly roll and do this - sounds really interesting.
