I've done a few crumbs inspired by threads like these. Most of my crumbs truly are crumbs ... teeny tiny itsy bitsy pieces put together.

Wouldn't it be wise to add some sort of straight-grain strip (like a sashing) around the crumb block once it's cut down? I would think they would stretch too much otherwise.

Just asking because I'm about ready to lighten my crumbs pile.

your quilt, your rules. :) I don't think there's any wrong or right way!

I’ve seen them done both ways and both are beautiful. The reason I will add sashing to mine is because they will be a QAYG. Another option is to sew them to a foundation if you are more comfortable this way.

I'm a little confused as to exactly what is a crumb quilt block.

They look like crazy quilt blocks to me, so what is the difference?

Is it that they are all one type of fabric and have no added embroidery/embellishments? Or ...?

I love the "tut" because I have been playing with my scraps. Would some of you gals please post what you have made with you squares or whatever you do with all of your scraps. I am looking for ideas. Would love to see some of your quilts!!! Thanks , 4js

no rules...do what has to be done to get a "sheet" of fabric you can use!
