I like to use the same color for all of the centers, then my preference is to keep the 4 outer corners of the 9 patch either all light or all dark, and the opposite for the rest. I did a B&W with Turquoise and am working on a blue/green/yellow one. I like the B&W one best. The other one is busier than I envisioned. I only have a pic of the B&W one and the safari one, not for the blue/green/yellow. The Safari one I made using a panel for the squares and border print for the border.

I love D9Ps too. Here are a few I have done.
The whirlygigs was done with all scraps of musical fabrics and some other scraps to finish it out. Butterflies and flowers floating around the pink and purple theme. Not sure how to add a picture when I'm replying to a topic, so here is the link for one I did for my son a couple of years ago for their 5th anniversary, (divorce is to be final this Friday). I did it with charm packs. It's the third one down. This was one of the first quilts I did, and of all things I do a king size.
