Sometimes these things are defective. It has happened to me with needles. I change needles and it just doesn't sew right then I change another one and it works.

Then I thought it was probably just one defective blade, so I tried another and it was just as lousy at cutting. Not buying blades from them again!

I was lucky, I only bought a 2-pack from Harbour Freight, and it was horrible. I won't buy from them again, either!

I've seen this happen several times! We're so careful with those sharp blades that it's easy to not separate them properly, and in this case, 2 is NOT better than 1!!

I have several diferent brands of cutters and have found that sometimes if you don't use the same brand blade as the cutter that they are just a little off.

My cutter is broken :((. The blade will not stay out so I can cut with it. The least amount of pressure I apply causes the blade to pop back up into the protective position.
I tried to hold the slide switch in place with my thumb while cutting but I just don't have enough strength in my hand/arm to do that.
Guess it's a new cutter for me.

Just a possible suggestion, is the blade put in backwards, sometimes that happens to me and i turn it aorund and it works. Another thought, could you have two blades in at one time. If you remember where you bought it, I'd take it back.

Maybe you got a 45 mm instead of a 60mm.

Other thing, one time mine was really dragging and giving me fits. I took it apart and lo and behold, I had two blades stuck together, removed one and reassembled and wala it worked!

That was my thought also. Sometimes it's like they are glued together...can be a safety hazard getting them apart!

Just a note: I too bought a large quantity of blades on ebay quite a few years ago. I have found that it's possible to put more blades in the containers then originally in there, so I took and moved all my new blades to one of the Olfa packages and marked with masking tape the empty one as used. That way I can still keep the older blades to use for cutting paper or junk stuff and have my new blades all in one place.
