Well after months of working on some embroidery angels to make into a wall hanging for my grandmother I have misplaced 2 of the made and don't have time to remake them before Friday. Now I need a quick alternative to have for her gift.

This was the last item left on my list and I am so sad now.

Japonica 12-21-2010 11:10 AM

Oh no! I'm sorry.

luv-e 12-21-2010 11:14 AM

Think positive.......Hope you find them.....

Snorky Lvs2Quilt 12-21-2010 11:14 AM

Awww sorry to hear. Hopefully you will find them soon and will be able to finish your project. I am pulling some all-nighters now trying to get some projects done. Leave it to me to wait till the last minute....arrgghh. Good luck.

starshine 12-21-2010 11:15 AM

Can you remember the last time you had them? Try to visualize when you had them, where you were, which room, what you were doing, just after. Maybe it will help, and ask your guardian angel to lead you to look for it where you put it. Saying a prayer for you that you find it in time.

crochetetc 12-21-2010 11:15 AM

I have tossed my sewing room and no luck yet. I don't know what to do now!

bels 12-21-2010 11:16 AM

Come on! You're a quilter! You'll think of something.

fayza 12-21-2010 11:17 AM

I hate when things like this happen. I will tell you what my DH tells me "Your looking too hard." Once you stop and not worry about it so much it'll occur to you where to look, and you'll find them. I know in this case time is of the essense, so good luck :)

kathome 12-21-2010 11:19 AM

Did you ask St. Joseph? He's come through for me on more than one occasion.

I agree, try to relax for a little while and it may pop into your head where you put them.

cowpie2 12-21-2010 11:24 AM

Look in the last place you would expect to find them. It is surprising how often I find lost things because I look where they are not suppose to be. Like finding the bread in the plate cupboard and the missing keys in the freezer.

crochetetc 12-21-2010 11:28 AM

Thanks everyone hubby says he will look when he gets home.

Vanuatu Jill 12-21-2010 11:29 AM

Happens to me too-things just "hide" right under my nose-take a break, eat some chocolate, and go back and "casually" look-sometimes, you have to "fake 'em out"-make 'em think you don't really need to find it, and they will come out of hiding in plain site! LOL! Seriously, I really hope they turn up soon-you know they are there SOMEWHERE-they didn't just up and fly away with their angle wings on their own!

you could take this as an opportunity to take plain blocks and write simple words of your love for her :)

sewingsuz 12-21-2010 02:20 PM

I will pray to Saint Anthony for you. It may help.

Prissnboot 12-21-2010 02:28 PM

If all else fails, start cleaning up and they will surface!

AngieS 12-21-2010 02:32 PM

Usually when you give up and think of another gift lo and behold it's found!! LOL Good luck. I sure hope you find them. :) Merry Christmas!!

bgullett 12-21-2010 02:35 PM

Sending you wishes that you find them.

fleurdelisquilts.com 12-21-2010 02:42 PM

Here's hoping that you've found them by now, but just in case, I have a suggestion: go buy a gift, wrap it, and put it under the tree. If all else fails and they don't show up, you'll be prepared. If the best happens and you find them as you walk in the door, you can return the purchased gift in a day or two. Either way, Christmas is good.
I find that as soon as I remake, replace, rebuild, re-purchase, re-whatever, I find the misplaced items.

CarrieAnne 12-21-2010 03:29 PM

Hugs...hope you find them!

Stitchnripper 12-21-2010 03:38 PM

I do hope you find them, or, come up with a new idea. I like the above suggestion of buying another gift for under the tree, just in case.

nursie76 12-21-2010 03:41 PM

When something disappears like that around here, it is usually the dog....and sometimes one of the cats. Hope you find the angels.

Check this Board for lots of quick ideas if you do need a replacement. Try searching "quick".

sueisallaboutquilts 12-21-2010 05:07 PM

I know how frustrating this is. HUGS

annieshane 12-21-2010 05:55 PM

When I am having a bad time, my son always tell me to take a long hot shower because he knows that always eases my pain. Might try a long bath to just sit and relax. It will come to you when you are not thinking so much about it. Unless, you are like me, which means they could be in the bottom of the dirty clothes basket or folded up with the last project I was working on yesteday. Good luck and God Bless !

I would take some time to keep looking. If your sewing room/area looks like mine...they might be buried somewhere. In case you need to straighten up anyway, you just might come across them which surely would make you happy. So while you consider other ideas, gets things organized, and I'll bet they show up. Good luck. If I lived closer I would help you look for them. ;)

Mkotch 12-22-2010 03:55 AM

How about giving her an IOU? When the holiday energy dies down, you are sure to find them!

quiltingfan 12-22-2010 03:59 AM

have to post just to see if you find them. The suspense.

sure hope you find them. When I cant find something in my house, I say a quick prayer and ask St. Anthony to help me.
Tony,Tony look around, something is lost and can't be found.
Have faith and look one more time. It will show up for you.

#1piecemaker 12-22-2010 04:45 AM

Relax!!! Then tear the place apart. I do that all the time. It will be okay!

mama's place 12-22-2010 04:54 AM

Taking the long bath sounds good to me. There's just something soothing and meditative, etc. about water. I remember so many things when I'm showering...don't know why. I'm one of those people with racing thoughts and have trouble just focusing on one thing. Like I say, try a long bath or shower. Just relax. If it doesn't come to you. Buy a replacement present. If you find the angels in time, you'll have a gift for her next birthday or give her both...she'll love you for it. Good Luck.

steelecg 12-22-2010 05:08 AM

St. Anthony is the one- he finds more stuff for me.

OmaForFour 12-22-2010 05:15 AM

St. Anthony, St. Anthony,
Please come around.
Something is lost,
and must be found!

SuziC 12-22-2010 05:24 AM

It's Christmas....don't be sad! Usually misplaced things show up when you stop looking.

illinois 12-22-2010 05:27 AM

There must be a gremlin loose at this time of year. I bought a replacement spool of brown thread for the stash and a spool of lime green thread for matching nightgowns and pj's for my granddaughters and their dolls, which are to be for Christmas. Also, a new tape measure for my daughter as she is still using a cotton one that is no longer accurate! (Sort of goes with the underwear and socks giggle--something she needs but not very exciting.) Can't find those items anywhere. I finally found a spool of acceptable lime green in the stash and finished the project with less than 12" of thread on that spool! Get Grandma another gift, relax and then make the angels into something for her birthday. Hopefully they will come out of hiding by then.

fireworkslover 12-22-2010 05:43 AM

I'd make a picture of angels, give to her with a note that the actual item will arrive in the future. She'll still have a gift to unwrap and open. After the Holidays settle down, you'll probably find them hiding in an unsuspected place.

grannypat7925 12-22-2010 06:40 AM

Sorry about this but maybe if you think really hard you can remember where they might be. Good luck!

pjwhalen145 12-22-2010 06:44 AM

Ask St. Anthony, he will help you find them.
