I recently made a leaf quilt, its posted on here somewhere, mine is appliqued though. I scatteted mine though as i wanted them to look like falling leaves, can you spread some out? Love the blocks! Is there a pattern? Id love to use both in a quilt! :-)

How about putting a big tree in the middle, and the leaves all around it, like a medallion quilt.

I'd go with off setting the leaves as well and perhaps fewer scattered around. You could do two quilts with what you have. It's going to be beautiful no matter what you do, the leaves are so pretty and the blue is such a compliment to them.

I agree with offsetting the blocks. What I would also add (if you are not burned out of making all those wonderful leaf blocks) would be to make a block with 3 small leaves on it. Maybe going in 3 directions. I would make maybe 3 or 4 of these blocks and scatter them randomly on the quilt top. You could take the blocks removed and maybe put them in a pillow or just save them for another quilting project. A different idea would be to block a few together and sash with a fabric that has all the warm leaf colors and perhaps a hint of blue. This would break up the linear look. Then use this fabric as your outside border to tie everything together.

If you want them to "fall" and flutter down the quilt, I would tilt the block. Recut the edges ( it looks like there is a border on each block ) so the leaves are no longer strait little soldiers marching in file. Tilt them in different directions (some left some right) to give it a random look. I've done this with butterflies and it can be quite effective. Really gives the feeling of movement.
Beautiful work by the way. I love the blue background, it really gives the feeling of looking up in the sky. Please let us see the finished quilt.

Absolutely nothing wrong with these beautiful blocks! This appear to be falling, just in an orderly way -- nothing wrong with that. This will be a gorgeous quilt!

Love the blue and the leaves. if you have more of the blue i would make some solid ones to use. That way you can scatter the leaves to make it look like they are falling from the tree. This quilt is going to be beautiful no matter how you finish it. Be sure to share it when its done would love to see it
