Has anyone ever seem a block like this? I was playing around on my EQ program and came up with this block. I have never seen one like it so I think it's all mine own design but you never know.

red-warrior 01-21-2014 05:24 PM

I really like your block and I have never seen one like it.

Tartan 01-21-2014 05:31 PM

I am thinking kind of like Pine Burr but not?

paulswalia 01-21-2014 05:45 PM

That's pretty neat! There will be an interesting secondary design too, formed by the corners of the adjoining blocks.

DebraK 01-21-2014 05:46 PM

whatcha going to name it? ;-)

luvTooQuilt 01-21-2014 06:43 PM

I'm calling it my "Prayer Block" because when I started designing it it was intended for some folks that really need some prayers. I wanted to make something different for them and I really like the way this one turned out.

Here is a picture of it put into a quilt with and without sashing. I like it best on point.

Agree and Yes you must name it!!!

caroloto 01-21-2014 09:02 PM

Must of posted at the same time! Love the name and the finshed look of the quilt!!!

seasaw2mch 01-21-2014 09:04 PM

It is a lot of pieces but I have figured a way to break it down into simple parts so it's not that hard to make. The only bugger bear is the outside corners, but I got that broken down as well. So when I can take pictures as I make one, I will post it on here.

Beautiful block ~ great designing job! Have fun making the quilt!

JustAbitCrazy 01-21-2014 09:41 PM

I've not seen anything like it. You did good! I like it best on point without sashing. Whatcha gonna call it?

toverly 01-22-2014 05:08 AM

That looks new to me! Love your block, now for the name?

DebraK 01-22-2014 05:23 AM

That first setting really shows how special your block is. Beautiful, how it flows together. The others are nice too.

homecaregiver 01-22-2014 06:05 AM

love it, can you share the pattern. That is a good name for your block. I have never used the EQ programs before. Looks like it might be fun.

That is a beautiful block. What is the dimensions of it? I like the on-point version as it just swirls around and makes the prettiest pattern. Way to go!! Liked it so much I went back and looked again. On second thought, I like the first version without the sashing. Either way you work it, it is lovely.

Sewnoma 01-22-2014 07:16 AM

Oh cool! That's a really nice block - I like the first quilt setting you posted but they all look good. This would make a really gorgeous quilt.

That block really does look like a pain to piece though! Probably a little outside of my abilities at this point...but not forever! (I'm terrible with points and triangles...yikes!) I would love to see your real-life blocks - please do post them when you make some.

jrhboxers 01-22-2014 07:24 AM

WOW - that is really nice. Can't wait for pics.

mighty 01-22-2014 07:29 AM

I do not think I have ever seen a block like yours. Awesome!!!!

quiltin-nannie 01-22-2014 07:32 AM

Beautiful! I love the first setting. Looking forward to seeing pictures as you go!

Once I get it figured out for the sewing part I plan to post it here to share with everyone.

Cindy60545 01-23-2014 02:53 AM

That is one awesome block! All three quilts are great, I like the first one the best. As a longarmer, I see a lot of quilting possibilities there for some special quilting too. Keep us posted as to progress & pic of final quilt. I think it's going to come out just absolutely gorgeous!

Minnesewta-sam 01-23-2014 03:13 AM

oolala...very pretty!

katesnanna 01-23-2014 03:43 AM

Congratulations and well done. I really love layout #1.

Retired Fire Chief 01-23-2014 03:55 AM

That is beautiful, I love it on point with the white sashing, I think it makes the center stars stand out so much more. Can't wait to see it in "real life"!

petpainter 01-23-2014 03:58 AM

I love the first one the best...GREAT job creating!!!

Amythyst02 01-23-2014 04:10 AM

jeanneb52 01-23-2014 04:11 AM

Mollie'sMom 01-23-2014 05:03 AM

If I were making it I would go with on point and no sashing. It looks like you sewed a lot of circles. It is beautiful. Way to go.

Judi in Ohio 01-23-2014 05:08 AM

My fav is on point without sashing. I love it because I like complex blocks. Break it down into groups that go together. Sew each section, that put the block together. I think putting together each block one at a time would be daunting. If you've got the pieces broken down you can put together all at once. It won't seem that difficult that way.
Good job

MaryAnnMc 01-23-2014 05:27 AM

That's gorgeous, I love all the variations. It won't be quick, but it will definitely be worth the effort.

I had to come back and edit my post. The more I look at this block, the more intrigued I am. I've figured out the piecing, except for the corner triangles. All I can say is, this would be a three-bottle-of-glue quilt for sure! I can't wait to see this when it's finished!!!
