Did I make more than 1 mistake here?
1 Attachment(s)
I am attempting to make an Ohio Star Tablerunner. I was at a quilt camp and made 2 Ohio Star Blocks. I am using the exact same pattern and instructions. I know I made a mistake with one of the fabrics... I picked up the wrong strip of yellow to re cut 2 blocks
however, did I make a mistake in the block itself?? Thank you for your help |
Oh dear... Worse than I thought! :-(

Can you post a link to the pattern you are using?
The block by itself looks "intentional." |
What ever is wrong I can't see . It looks a finished block. If you make more make them exactly the same.

It looks pretty. the 2 yellow background fabrics are close enough to each other that the mistake is not important. what will matter if you are combining this block with others is that the 'sky' part of your flying geese blocks don't touch. You might check out Ohio Star or flying geese on www.quilterscache.com. I suspect that you made the star points touch before you sewed them together, thus not touching after your seam. been there. done that.

I like it the way it is.

Pretty star block! Unless you are doing an Ohio block exchange, I would just make all the rest of the blocks the same. I like the variety in the yellow triangles.
|
I don't see a problem with the block but I find the square block in the middle disturbing because the flower looks upside down and throws off where your eye lands. Only my opinion.

I don't think your yellow points are big enough. Sharonve

The only thing I see is that your HST aren't as large as the one in the pattern. Other than that I don't see a thing wrong with it.
