I have to tell you you have inspired me........ I have tons of questions and to tell you the truth, it is this message board that has been the main support for a newbie like me....... glad to know that true support and friendship exists :-P I am joining the party tonight-for sure. I FINALLY finished the quilt I have made for my daughter, and can't wait to show my new friends. Since we are "for-reals" neighbors, we will have to meet so that we can share our projects, cowgirl stuff, and smiles. "See ya" tonight as we party and quilt together!!! :thumbup: |

First problem I encountered was that I discovered I did not have enough fabric for my backing. So, I rushed over to the computer, did a search here for pieced backings, got some great ideas from you, and pieced my backing to my liking. Then, I found that the piece of Warm & Natural batting I had was not wide enough. (are you seeing a common theme here? Note to self: buy extra!) Then, ready to start sandwiching my quilt top, batting, and backing, I searched again, made note of your tips and techniques, and armed with my can of Basting Spray (my new best friend!), I basted my quilt together! Easy peasy! What was I so afraid of? Tonight I will be doing the quilt stitching & binding, so stop on by if you would like to quilt with me again. Hopefully I will have some pictures posted on Friday. So, thank you for being there with me last night. Oh, and in case you didn't realize it, you pulled an all nighter. We were so into quilting that we didn't go to bed until 4am! |

This is so true! I have not yet finished a quilt without posting a question and getting the information I needed right then.

Can't tell you how many times I've pulled an all-nighter. Even had times when I tried to sleep once or twice only to get up again and finish projects I'd been avoiding.

I love the way you told this story. It was so interesting and what a sweet personality you have. I too have been there, done that with these ladies and gents.
I call myself a self-learner, but really I have these fellow quilters to guide me too. Can't wait to see the picture, hopefully Friday. Sounds like a plan!!!!!! :thumbup: |
Oh my goodness, I just went back one page to read rest of post and I see you have already completed the quilt and posted. What a knuckle head I am, I'm responding to an old post. I got behind on my quilting board newsletter and saved bunches till I can read them all. But nice job. You, we, all did good didn't we?
