I bought the super deluxe package, 4 years ago, and have noticed that I keep going back and using certain ones. I agree with PaperPrincess.

Therefore, I also recommend you buy as you go (pun intended).

With that said, I do love the 5" square, and all the strip dies. Since I am getting into the Bonnie Hunter quilts, I am repeatedly using the 2" finished half square triangle, and the 2" square dies, where I can cut 32 at a time.

My other favorites are the equal lateral triangle, the wedge and the 2 tumbler shapes. But, it depends on what kind of quilts you are into making.

Have fun with your Go, it really is amazing how much easier it is to cut fabric!

I recently purchased the Multi triangle and multi-square dies and just love them. I intend to use some of the Christmas applique dies for quick Christmas gifts, but find I use the squares and triangles the most. I echo the advice to look at how you sew and what shapes you use most often to find the dies most useful for you. Most of all, have FUN with your new machine!

I like it for any of the blocks with curves, dwr,apple core and winding ways and for triangles. I had somewhere the chart that showed which dies would go together to make a 12inch block and I used that to choose dies that would work together and of course I can't find it for you now :-( .

I have the GO (3 yrs) and many dies.....and am well pleased with it...recently looked into and purchased a Sizzix big shot = to Baby GO, I guess....the dies for it are more reasonable! albeit they are smaller, and Hobby Lobby allows you to use their 40%coupon on the dies. And I understand I can use the GO dies on it.....the ones that fit anyway.....so that combo works for me....

I agree with Paper Princess - buy only when you need for a specific project. Kind of like fabric, there is something addictive about it and getting the darn dies. Those dies are expensive though, more than a yard or two of fabric. I have dies - probably 6 or 7 that I have never even opened and now I question if I will even ever use them. I use the basic squares and triangles often as well as those cute little birds (in my eye, birds make anything better) but I have never put a bird on a quilt. I do love the alphabet though but boy those were down right expensive. Other than that, I have never used the flowers, the dog, the cat, the little Christmas house etc. Make friends with someone who also has one, that is what I did, now we share.

For me, the strip dies were a waste of money. I never use them. I LOVE the log cabin die, the triangle dies and the multiple square dies, and the hexagon die. I like the smaller of the drunkards path, but the larger one was too big and not one I would have bought. It's all personal preference, and depends on what you actually use. Most of mine were gifts, so I'm grateful for ALL of them.. just like some better than others.

Buy the ones you need. Don't buy a die just because someone else says.

I love my GO. I think the strip cutters are the bread and butter of the dies. You can cut strips, squares and diamonds with them. If I o nly have to cut a couple of strips, I do it with my rotary cutter. I am just finishing #3 of a quilt that required 222 strips (for a total of 666 strips for all 3 quilts). I would never have made these quilts without the help of my GO cutter. I also made a 9 patch quilt that required a whole lot of 2 1/2" squares, and I cut all of those with my 2 1/2" strip cutter. I love cutting my borders and my bindings with my strip cutters. I also have some block dies (Hunter's Star, Winding Ways, Drunkard's Path, etc) that I love, too. And I have a lot of the applique dies for use with my embroidery designs. Did I say "I love my GO"?

There are sets of dies based on Block sizes. I started with the 12 inch block. I have all dies that work together to form a 12 inch block. Now working on 8 inch and 6 inch.

I LOVE the strip cutters.

If I were you I would get the 1 1/2 inch strip cutter also.
