My Pfaff Expression 4 doesn't need to be oiled.

My poor abused Bernina, I forget to even put oil on bobbin, and I have had it for 28 yrs. Poor thing. I keep telling myself I must do that once in a while, but so far haven't.
I do take it in once a yr or so for checkup and cleaning does that count? lol. Sorry little bernina. Rita |

If the manual does not show it you should be fine, get on their web site if you are not sure

My Janome dealer told me because I lived so far from them they would show me where to oil my 6600P and to do it after 60(?) hours of use or once a year. Otherwise, they don't recommend it be done.

I sewed on my first Brother (my mom got it for me when I left for college) for almost 25 years without knowing I was supposed to oil or clean it! My cleaning consisted of blowing the lint out of the bobbin area when I changed the bobbin! My mom just shakes her head. Then I oiled it, it hasn't sewn the same since...

My Janome MC11000 does not need oiling - at least it states that in the manual.

Most Viking, Janome and Brother machines are sealed and do NOT need any oil. I've had several Viking/Husq. models over the years and none req. oil. My Pfaff Expresssion does require a drop of oil at the bobbin casing. My Viking Megaquilter has to be oiled, as a hi speed machine. |
My Singer Athena 2000 says it never needs oiled. It is 35 years old now and it still is sewing great. I did take it in to be "cleaned" however when I got it back I couldnt tell what they did to "clean" it.

My Janome doesn't require oiling . But I was told about the drop of oil in the bobbin area. I was told that I should have it "serviced" about once a year depending on how much I use it. I have heard the stories from friends of them doing this and getting a little bag back with a wad of bits of thread and fuzz in it. lol
