Since that is your border, then I like the way the long sides look. The dark geese separate the gold geese from the gold border. So, I would change the short sides. I think that it would have looked beautiful if you had sewed the long sides correctly, but I really think that your supposed screw up is a blessing in disguise. I think that it will be smashing w/those changes. Great Job!!!

Heavens, no! The top and bottom match and so do the sides - it looks great! I'd leave it!

Thank you for your opinion, and compliment.

You have answered your own question. It it bothers you then "rip" since you will always be looking at your mistake and wishing that you had fixed it.

I think itis beautiful just the way it is! unless of course, if you want to rip out the seams and re do it all.

I think it looks fine. I agree about the ripping, "UGH" Besides, little fur baby agrees, right?

Honestly, at first glance I thought the top and bottom borders were the ones that were wrong. Had to go back and carefully read to see that they were the ones that were right. So, I guess either way works. Personally, I would have to change one or the other to make it all match or it would drive me crazy! I'm just too much of a perfectionist. I like the way the side borders make a break between the quilt and the outside border. They both kind of blend into the Flying Geese on the top and bottom borders. Maybe that is how the designer wanted it, but I think your mistake may be a blessing in the long run. I like your mistake!

I would rip out the top & bottom & flip them. If it bothers you now it probably always will.

If it were my top, I would probably start ripping. It's a beautiful quilt, you've put a lot of effort into it and why fret about it when you can fix it if it makes you feel better with the end result.

I like it the way it is.

If I were to change anything to make it consistent all the way around - it would the the top and bottom to have them face in to the quilt rather than out.

Cheers, K

I would fix it because I am a perfectionist. If I leave an error I will always see it first when I look at the quilt. I think I would change the top and bottom. Either way is great-but the border needs to enclose the body of the quilt. It is always hard to "back up" but I personally have never been sorry that I took the time to do it when an error was obvious to me.
